Z790 Hero+ G.skill Ram Qcode 55 when restart windows

Hi there, i am have problem with my system right now. Z790 Hero- G.skill Trident Z - i9 13900k

my ram rgb randomly stop sync with other pheriperal. it just random sometimes under 30 min, sometimes upper 3-5 hours. ram rgb will stuck and not rotating anymore. (i using rainbow aura effect with red and dark moving pattern), also try smart effect and got same problem, that was the symptoms. when i saw my ram light not moving anymore armoury crate will throw an notification  about if the lighting effect still laggy need change something at armoury crate. when this phenomena happend if i restart the pc, motherboard will stuck at q code 55. 

stuck qcode 55 happen when xmp1 on. so i try to turn off xmp, bios default, only fan case change from auto to pwm. and sometimes ram rgb stop sync also with xmp off. but if i restart motheboard can pass to windows instead stuck at qcode 55. but when i try check it at bios, at extreme tweaker no more xmp mode option in there. this like motherboard fail to recognize the ram. 

also have problem with fan controller with this board. i need change fan cha from auto to pwm at bios. if i not change it, fan case will run at max rpm forever. and at fanxpert cant tuning fan speed. but if change to pwm fanxpert can tuning my fan case normally, and i can adjust fan speed with my will. this weird coz before z790 hero i use z690 hero, and this fan tunning issue i not problem here, just let it auto and it was run as it should be.

what i do until now:

1. i sell my old ram G.Skill 6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5RN with amd expo feature and change to G.Skil F5-6400J4048F24GX2-TZ5RK with intel xmp. and still have same problem with both type of this ram.

2. try remove gpu and change psu. not help problem still perssist

3. try update ME FW, right now i using V.16.1.30.2264, still not help

using lastest bios 1303 and lastest ME FW. 

just confusing did this happend to all z790 hero + G.skill trident z Ram? or my motheboard was deffect?

did i need to wait next bios?  really need advice from expert here, coz in other thread i seek help no one answer. and got some people with z790 hero + g.skill ram have sama symptoms

Hi there,

Given you're having both Aura Sync difficulty and the system is occasionally failing POST, it sounds like a CPU contact issue.

1. Remove the CPU cooler and CPU

2. Check CPU and CPU pin pad for signs of any damage or bent pins

3. Recheck TIM application and remount CPU and cooler whilst checking for even mounting pressure, ensuring not to over-torque.

4. Ensure motherboard stand-offs are not over-torqued.

Hello, doing your advice already. 

i am pretty sure no one bolt was over torque, i do it myself very carefully.

also examine socket pin carefully, i also take the pict what should i do next?

Ok. Well, you need to put it back together and test it. The socket appearing fine does not exclude poor pin contact, so needs rulling out.

after i put it together problem still appear, but right now i only install  1 ram at A2 slot. now pc running around 7 hours and everything still working normal. my plan is want to try put ram only at slot B2 after this

hello, after try put only 1 ram at slot B2, yeah about 1 hours and problem come again. rgb stuck ram lightning not moving again. if i restart board will stuck at qcode 55. i use same ram with when i test slot A2. i think this slot had a problem. what should i do now mr Silent_Scone?

If you clear the UEFI and do not enable XMP is the behaviour the same?

Assuming both modules exhibit the same behaviour, I would remove the system from the chassis and retest. If no joy, you may have to consider contacting support to initiate an RMA.

i ever try xmp off, still got same problem there, ram rgb stuck. the differend is if i restart system when xmp was off board can pass  boot to windows. but at armoury crate ram was dissapear there. and when i went to bios and checking extreme tweaker no xmp option there. this like board not detecting the ram correctly. you can check video no 2 i attach. or i can attach again here

In your previous communication, it appears you have preliminarily ruled out any CPU hardware abnormalities.
Upon confirmation, the memory you subsequently replaced with, F5-6400J4048F24GX2-TZ5RK, is not listed in the QVL for the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO, and neither was the previous G.Skill 6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5RN.

While the F5-6400J4048F24GX2-TZ5RK official website mentions support for AURA SYNC, there is also a note below stating, "Trident Z5 RGB lighting control support through the listed third-party software may vary between motherboard models."

In light of this, we recommend attempting to cross-test with the memory models listed in the QVL.
Please refer to the instructions in [Motherboard] How to query (CPU/memory) QVL List? and also check the "purchasing and installation guide" under the "Memory" section on the official website of the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO support page.
