Hello @AwenMilano
We apologize for the wait.
After investigation by the relevant departments, we’ve confirmed that attempting to update GameFirst to version 6.1.30.2 within Armoury Crate may result in an error message, preventing a successful update. Our engineers are currently working on a potential solution for this issue.
However, we have verified that uninstalling version 6.1.23 and manually installing version 6.1.30.2 directly from the official website support page allows the installation to complete without encountering a BSOD.
Following further discussion, we recommend resetting the system while keeping your files and then manually installing version 6.1.30.2 from the website.
This can help resolve any BSOD caused by software conflicts or system settings.
Thank you.

Hello @AwenMilano
We apologize for the wait. After confirmation with the relevant department, this issue has now been resolved.
We have verified that the driver update can now be completed directly within the GameFirst application and recommend you try updating the version again.
If you encounter any other issues or blue screens after completing the update, please consider resetting this PC while keeping your files before checking again.
Thank you.

Hello @AwenMilano
Thank you for reaching out to us and for sharing the details and images.
If you remove the newly installed SSD and GameFirst VI software, does the blue screen issue persist?
Compatibility between certain software can also lead to netio.sys blue screen errors, and please refer to [Motherboard] Troubleshooting - How to solve BSOD error in Windows (Blue Screen) for more details and guide steps.
Given this, we suggest trying to remove recently installed software or, if possible, testing on a clean system with only Armoury Crate installed and also ensuring all drivers and services in the Update Center are updated to the latest versions.
Thank you.

Hello @AwenMilano
Thank you for the quick update.
Could you clarify if, after updating to game first version 6.1.30.2, you experienced blue screens when the system was idle, but no blue screens occur on version 6.1.23?
And currently, are you receiving persistent update prompts along with error messages that are blocking the update? Could you provide a screenshot of the "extract installation error"?
Please also share the PSU and RAM model and part number, along with two .txt files generated in your Windows system following the steps below:
1.Press the WIN+R keys on the keyboard to open the command window
2.Key in: dxdiag → OK
3.Click [Save All Information]
4.Select the save location and click [Save]
Same steps, replace the command line in step 2 with: msinfo32
5.Key in: msinfo32 → OK → and save the txt file.
You may upload the files to cloud storage and share a link with us for further investigation.
Thank you.

Hello @AwenMilano
Thank you for sharing the screenshot and details.
I have consolidated the information you provided and will consult with our engineers for further investigation.
Regarding the dxdiag and msinfo links you shared, it seems that the access permissions are restricted, so we are unable to view or download them.
Could you please help us confirm the access permissions and share the part number of the currently installed memory?
Thank you.

Hello @AwenMilano and thank you for your reply.
Our engineers are still investigating this matter, and we appreciate your patience as this may take some additional time.
Additionally, according to the support page for the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO, there is no version 6.1.23 listed for the ROG GameFirst VI driver.
Could you please help confirm where this version was downloaded from, and if possible, share the driver file?
You may upload it to cloud storage, grant access, and provide the link here if the file is too large.
Thank you.
