Hi Legends,
I'm running Z790 Dark Hero with 14900k and G.Skill Trident z5 64gb (2x32) DDR 5 6400mhz RAM.
In my Bios I only have XMP profile options for Auto, XMP I and XMP II.
I'm still learning about this but shouldn't I have XMP III option available. The description where I bought my RAM says "Intel XMP 3.0 (Extreme Memory Profile) Ready"
Don't know if it makes any difference anyway.
Thanks for your help 🙂

Hi @Maurelius
This is a common misconception of the profile naming. The profiles pertain to the various XMP modes as designated by ASUS, and not the Intel technology standard of XMP 3.0.
All DDR5-based ROG motherboards and DDR5 memory kits are XMP 3.0 compliant.
XMP/EXPO I - This is the validated board profile. Every time a board is validated with a particular memory kit, the memory vendor and ASUS use this profile to validate the kit for the QVL.
XMP/EXPO II - This is the default DIMM profile from the memory vendor and contains sub-timings stored within the SPD EEPROM of the memory module.
XMP/EXPO Tweaked - This is the fastest profile and contains various tuned sub-timings and memory parameters.

Thank you for such a quick reply and for clarifying. They like to make the wording confusing for noobs like me. I was reading my board was compatible like you said but found it odd there was no option for it but you have cleared it up.
I'll run XMP I and see how it handles.
Cheers.
