Frustrated beyond all belief at this point with this motherboard. Been up and running for almost 2 months. Initially had massive trouble with the LAN disconnecting for no reason and ultimately solved it by turning off wifi and blutooth in the bios, upgrading to win 11 AND updating the LAN drivers after the move to an operating system I didn't really want.
Now here I am 2 months later and suddenly last night....BOOM....LAN just keeps disconnecting for no reason and bluescreen of death everytime I try to interact with the LAN once it disconnected. I can't get back on line with out a full power down (which crashes when I try to reboot or power down so I have to start that in the OS, wait for it to crash and then hard power down with the button on the case that forces it off and then kill the power supply and wait 2 minutes before restarting). The only way I can maintain a stable connection is with my adapter manually set to
- 100MPS speed (aka turn off auto negotiate speed)
So now all my downloads are severely throttled.
@Support do I need to start an RMA on this thing at this point or do I burn it on pyre and never by a ROG product again and watch / wait for you to go out of business?
Solved! Go to Solution.
May I ask if the situation you described happened after any changes were made? For example, updating the BIOS or connecting an external device
Could you please confirm your current BIOS version, and have you attempted to clear the CMOS and found that the issue persists with the default BIOS settings?
Have also updated the Intel ME to the corresponding version in the BIOS?
For example, the latest BIOS version of the ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI is 1303, which requires updating the Intel ME to 220.127.116.116.

The only thing that changed immediately prior to the issue occuring is local power went out for 4 hours, not surged, just dropped out because a tree feel down a couple streets away. I had mad no changes to the PC.
I updated both the ME and Bios (1303) on Saturday with no change/impact to loss of LAN function. I even talked with ROG support via chat and went through everything I had done in some detail and they could only recommended starting a service ticket and shipping it in.
I have new board arriving today to hopefully get me back up and using LAN on my main rig again in a couple hours
Power surges and spikes that occur after a power outage can potentially damage the motherboard or hardware inside your PC.
We recommend that you continue to use it and observe whether any other abnormalities persist.
