Hello, is it possible for someone with a Samsung 990 pro SSD to share the read an write speeds ?

Both under Windows and under Linux I do not reach speeds above 7115 MB/s only on crystaldiskmark, on Magician the situation is worse

Hello @adrifoxbg

Could you please clarify if this issue occurred after the PC was first built or after using it for some time and occurred following any recent changes, such as a BIOS update or component replacement?
May I ask which M.2 slot the Samsung 990 Pro is installed in, and have you tried cross-testing other slots or using different SSDs to see if there is any difference in performance?

What is the firmware version of the Samsung 990 Pro and has it been updated to the latest version?
To help us better understand your usage scenario, could you kindly provide the following information?
- images of the BIOS main page, along with any manually adjusted settings in the BIOS, or confirm if the settings are still at their default values
- does adjusting the M.2 channel setting in BIOS to [Gen 5], [Auto], or [Gen 4] make any difference?
- the brand, model, and installation slots or ports of the CPU, GPU, RAM (part number well), SSD/HDD, and PSU
- are there any extensions or adapters used to connect any devices, such as GPU or SSD?
- the Windows version and build

Thank you.

Hello.
The SSD is placed in the M2_2 slot to directly use the processor.

The jumper is in auto mode for pci mode but that can hardly be the reason
As is known, this is a 4th generation and in my opinion this is the best option.
My video card is quite old, 1050 Ti Strix OC 3rd generation
I do not use anything that is 5th generation
The tests were under Windows 11 Pro with the CrystalDiskMark and Samsung Magician programs
The maximum speed I achieve on CrystalDiskMark is 7115 MB/s

I can use the first slot, but that will limit the first X16 G5 1 slot on the video card to x8 mode, the second one will even be disabled.
Under Linux the situation is worse, I will even upload a screenshot from Kdiskmark
The BIOS version is 1801

SSD firmware is the latest, it hasn't been updated for a long time
According to Samsung this is fine, they said the speed also depends on the motherboard slot, processor
13900K processor
High-end motherboard
Kingston Fury Beast cl 40 DDR5 manually set to 5600
Liquid cooling EK 360
There is no reason for me to have such a problem.
There is probably a bottleneck due to the GPU

I'm also worried about Intel's fiasco regarding high voltages and degradation
But the processor holds very good benchmarks and speeds
CPUID benchmark single core, for example, is literally behind 14900KS
Apparently the last bios update 1801 gave a good lead to single core, but I'm slightly behind on multi core

Hello @adrifoxbg

Thank you for sharing the details. The reason for requesting details about the OS build version or SSD firmware is to help our team replicate the issue as closely as possible to your specific scenario.

Regarding the situation you described, we recommend that after properly backing up any important data, you remove all other storage drives and install the correctly formatted Samsung 990 Pro as the system drive in the M.2_2 slot. During testing, please also cross-test the M.2_3 and M.2_4 slots to determine if there are any differences.

Please use a Windows OS and ensure that both the system and the drivers provided on our official website, as well as the SSD firmware, are fully updated. Then, recheck whether the read/write performance has improved.
For BIOS settings, we suggest clearing CMOS and avoiding any manual settings, including memory overclocking or other adjustments, initially. Separately set the respective slot to [Gen 4] and [Auto] in the BIOS and verify if there are any differences in performance within the system.

Thank you.
