Hi,
I know there is some ongoing issues with the I9 14th and 13th gen, and that's why I'm using the Intel profile instead of any custom or AI OC.
My specs :
- I9 14900Ks
- Z790 Dark hero (Bios 1402)
-96Go ddr5 GSkill 6800Mt (dual channel kit)
-Win 11
I noticed while playing some "freeze" (no bdos / no errors in the event logs). Just a full freeze and I had to power off manually the computer.
I tried to narrow it down doing some benchmark with cinebench and it's quite flagrant ! As soon as I start the multi core test it take less than 5sec to freeze.
I tried different options in the bios :
- tried AI OC
- tried intel profile (making sure that it's running as expected with ICCMAX 400A and PL1-PL2 to 320W)
-I tried to use intel profile and lower PL1 and PL2 to 250W
But none of that seems to fix my freeze.
At this point I'm even considering to relock the CPU but I did not find the option in the bios :/.
Any help would be really appreciated.

It seems the issue is caused by the XMP enabled on my DDR5 kit.
Its supposed to work but I've read multiple post mentionning that the kit is supported by a 14900K but unstable on a 14900ks 😕

Hello @FNU0338 ,
We recommend clearing CMOS and then referring to the setup suggestions in [Motherboard] Intel 13th and 14th Gen K-Series Processor Stability Improvement with the Latest ASUS... to see if this resolves the freezing issue.
Or try the following settings under the default BIOS to see if this helps with the issue:
1. Set "SVID Behavior" in BIOS to "Intel's Fail Safe."
2. Disable MCE
Additionally, please review the discussion thread [Intel] July 2024 Update on Instability Reports on Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen Desktop Processors and try cross-testing with a different CPU if needed.
Thank you.

Hi @FNU0338 XMP is overclocking, and as such manual adjustment can be necessary due to variance between parts when running the system outside of spec.
