Z790 13700K New bios causing wierd temp spikes

Raigoz

Ok so I just updated to the new 2503 bios update today I had the 2023 0807 one and had not a single issue with my cpu  13700k on a Z790 Hero board thought i'd update it to be safe for the future.

Well since this update my vcore risen from 1.28 to 1.35 before this I believe my bios settings was Limits removed and MCE enabled.

My temps are a shocker when loading a game up like Cyberpunk 2077 during the loading screen my core temps go up to 97c

At this rate im gonna ditch Intel and go for AMD

Hello @Raigoz

Based on your description, you seem to notice a significant temperature spike in the CPU cores when loading games after updating to BIOS 2503.
Could you please confirm how you monitored the CPU temperature, and did Armoury Crate also detect these temperature spikes?

For BIOS settings, please refer to [Motherboard] Intel 13th and 14th Gen K-Series processor stability Improvement with Latest ASUS BIO....
May I ask whether the issues you described still occur if you clear CMOS and run the system without any XMP memory overclocking or manual adjustments?
Besides the CPU voltage increase and temperature spikes, are there any other issues, such as BSOD?

Thank you.
