XMP does not work after bios flash, still does not work on roll back even though it used to work.

I flashed my z790 maximus apex encore to latest bios version yesterday. Hoping itd help solve the flicker issue with the RGB on my ryujin 3 360 cooler. it didnt fyi.  went to enable xmp profile after flash, it did not post. rolledback to the version that came with mobo, still wont post with XMP, or any setting changed under the tweaker tab. I have gskill trident z5 8200cl40 2x24gb.  I tried reseating the ram and swapping their place in 2x dimm. wouldnt post.

only thing I didnt do was boot to windows after flash, restart, and try to change xmp nor did i remove cmos battery. It wont even let me set to 8200 anymore. Ill try the process again tomorrow but with a boot to windows after flash and pulling battery. Any other ideas though? Its been a headache with this build, and it all started on boot up with rgb on rad flickering and a crate not seeing r3 cooler in sync. Thanks.

Hello, @Ultr4h

May I inquire if the memory part number you are currently using is F5-8200J4052F24GX2-TZ5RW, and if the installed CPU is a 14th generation Intel CPU?
According to the QVL for the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE, only one set of memory is listed for the 14th generation Intel CPU.

Other generations of CPUs do not support G.Skill, 8200 clock speed, and 2*24GB memory specifications.

Meanwhile, when unable to enable memory overclocking settings to enter the system, is your configuration set to XMP I?
If not, we recommend setting it to XMP I and checking again, as the memory timings and parameters are optimized by Asus.

Thank you.

Running an i914900KF

That is the correct ram I am using.  All XMP stopped working when i flashed bios. Went through each iteration of bios, wouldnt post. Even removed mobo battery and cleared cmos after last bios flash, nothing.  I manually overclocked and set voltages to get it to post. Thats not solving the issue of why the XMP stopped working in the first place. Across all iterations, including 506 that came with the mobo and worked until flash.

Hello, @Ultr4h

According to your description, is it after updating to BIOS version 0801 that you are unable to set overclocked memory and successfully boot into the system?
Could you please help to confirm the question below?
- all the images of the setting in BIOS, or whether it is the default
- the brand and model name of the GPU, SSD/HDD, and PSU currently installed
- are there any extensions or adapters used to connect any devices, such as GPU or SSD?
- the OS version and OS build

Thank you.

After flashing to 801, XMP stopped working and does not work on any other iteration of bios after flashing 801.

All the settings were set to default when enabling XMP. Did not work.

Hello, @Ultr4h

Due to the ongoing local holidays in our area, my response time may experience delays.
I apologize for any inconvenience the delayed replies may have caused.

I have consolidated your case and consulted with relevant personnel for further confirmation.
Additionally, may I inquire whether installing a single memory module in the DIMM_A1 slot would allow successful booting into the system with XMP I memory overclocking enabled?
Which version did you update from to reach version 0801, and which versions did you flash back to where XMP enable was still unsuccessful?
In reference to your previous response, "I manually overclocked and set voltages to get it to post," does manually configuring overclocking parameters allow for a successful boot into the system with overclocked memory?
Could you also kindly provide screenshots related to the memory clock settings?

Thank you.
