X870e hero 9950x3d gaming adaptive ccd parker crashing

Bigsilverback
Level 8

So I’ve been struggling to get hunt showdown to run on the correct ccd. (Works in most other games) so I enabled gaming adaptive ccd Parker and its crashing the whole system when trying to play the game. Seems to be some sort of bug with bios 1512.

Can replicate this issue every time. Game crashes instantly or within the first few minutes.

latest drivers, cleared cmos, expo off/on etc. A few others on other forums having the same issue.

Hello @Bigsilverback
Thank you for reaching out to us.
May I ask which BIOS version you updated from to reach version 1512? In the previous BIOS version, did you also have Gaming Adaptive CCD Parker enabled without encountering the issue you described? Could you please confirm whether the system still crashes during gameplay even after clearing CMOS and booting with all BIOS settings at default?
As we focus on feedback shared through ROG forum, kindly sharing the following details to help us further investigate the issue you are experiencing with the latest BIOS version:
- Images of the BIOS main page along with the exported .CMO file that includes all applied settings
- Details of your PSU, RAM model and part number, and two .txt files generated from your Windows system using the steps below:
1) Press WIN + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog, type dxdiag, and click OK.
2) Click Save All Information and choose a location to save the file.
3) Repeat the same steps using msinfo32 to generate the second file.
- A complete video recording documenting the issue with capturing the following: start with all hardware connections clearly shown, clear CMOS, boot into the system to verify it operates without crashing in-game, then re-enter the BIOS to apply your manual settings, including the mentioned Gaming Adaptive CCD Parker, and finally demonstrate the crash occurring during gameplay.
Please note that the above information will be helpful for us to clarify the situation. and if you have any results from third-party stress test software, such as Cinebench R23 or CPU-Z Benchmark, you can also share screenshots of those results as well.

Thank you.

Im not sure what version it shipped with I just updated it straight away. It’s a new system and it runs okay without this setting enabled. Just disappointed that I’m enable to use this feature. No it does not crash at default settings it’s only when this setting is turned on and this particular game so far (very cpu intensive even with a 5080).

Hello @Bigsilverback

Thank you for providing additional context regarding your situation.
We kindly ask for your understanding that the detailed hardware and software specs requested are necessary for us to conduct testing and verification under conditions as consistent as possible with your environment.

Thanks!!

I’m unsure if it’s game specific as it’s the only one I’ve tested. However If you are going to test it you have to go into an actual match as it doesn’t seem to crash in the shooting range though I haven’t tested it extensively.

Further details specs:

asus crosshair hero x870e hero. 1512 bios.

amd 9950x3d

I’m not going to send a video as I don’t want to turn this setting back on as it causes a lot of issues. But a simple test your end will confirm that the adaptive game ccd Parker on your motherboards does NOT work. At least with this bios version. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next bios update.

Hello @Bigsilverback

Thank you for the update. We have reported this to the relevant department for verification, however, our testing team currently does not have access to this paid game. May we ask if this issue only occurs in Hunt: Showdown, or are there other games that can also reproduce the same situation?
If not, we kindly ask that you refer to our previous suggestion and share a recording showing the abnormal behavior occurring in Hunt: Showdown. This will help us better understand your situation and may help us to investigate further.

Thank you.

Well it might be worth the small investment to ensure that your product works as intended. I haven’t tested in any other game, However other reports suggest its causing some serious issues outside of games therefore I don’t believe this issue is game specific or limited to me. The reason I was wanting to use it in this specific game was because core parking was not working.

As mentioned I won’t be doing anymore than I have in terms of testing. Im just simply notifying you of what seems like a widespread issue about a feature not working as it should. Politely - this is up to you to test/fix.

Just to clarify, CCD Parker (aka Adaptive Gaming Mode) is an AMD firmware-level feature, not something ASUS independently developed or controls.

What as In the setting in bios? Cores park in most games at a driver level with this setting turned off. But from my understanding enabling the setting in bios has the board control it. So strange how it works with one and not the other.
