X870E-E Wireless Lan (Wifi 7) Speed Throttling Problem

Chrome123
Level 7

Hi folks,

I notice that my new X870E-E seems to throttle internet speed to 200mb/s for downloading and 50mb/s for uploading. My laptop can have 700mb/s downloading and uploading easily (ATT Fiber).

Anyone has similar problem? What's the fix? Thanks!

Hello @Chrome123

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please clarify if this issue occurred after the PC was first built or after using it for some time and occurred following any recent changes, such as a BIOS update or component replacement?
What is the current BIOS version, OS and build version, and installed driver version? If you have not yet updated or installed the versions available on the official website, please install the latest versions from the ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI support page. After installation, please restart the system and clear CMOS before checking again.
Please also ensure that your OS is Windows 11 version 24H2 or later, as this is required for compatibility with the official Wi-Fi 7 driver and to enable full functionality.

Additionally, we suggest referring to [Motherboard] Troubleshooting – How to fix Motherboard Wi-Fi connection problems for further troubleshooting steps.
If the issue persists, kindly share the following details to help us better understand the situation:
- the specific scenario in which speed throttling occurs, the frequency of the issue, and screenshots of the test results showing the connection speed
- the images of the BIOS main page
- the PSU, RAM model and part number, and two .txt files generated in your Windows system via the steps below:
1) Press WIN + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog, and type dxdiag → click OK.
2) Click Save All Information and select a save location → click Save.
3) Repeat the same steps with msinfo32 to generate the second file.

Thank you.
