X670E-I - Multiple Devices Disappear from Device Manager After 3-5 Minutes Following Boot

Rockmaninoff
Level 7

Hello, I'm working on a new build and have a problem where multiple devices *poof* disappear from Device Manager after 3-5 minutes following boot. Everything works perfectly during that time, and then of course, things like Ethernet stop working. Here's a picture of Device Manager right after bootup and here's a picture after whatever happens...happens. The full list of devices that go away is below.

Has anyone encountered something like this before? I'm on the latest BIOS and I've tried the following:

  • Setting Windows power settings to maximum performance
  • Installing Armoury Crate and using all of the drivers that it suggest
  • Uninstalling Armour Crate and associated drivers
  • Disabling Thunderbolt 4 in BIOS settings
  • Installing drivers directly from Asus
  • Installing drivers directly from Intel

I'm tearing my hear out over this, would love it if anyone has any ideas...

Hello, @Rockmaninoff

Thank you for the detailed list and comparing images.
May I ask, do the items disappear from the Device Manager within 3-5 minutes after booting all at once, or do they vanish one by one? and does this issue also occur in Windows Safe Mode?
It might be a driver conflict among multiple devices, causing the system to disable or hide some devices.
You can check by selecting "View" > "Show hidden devices" in the Device Manager toolbar.
After the items disappear from the list, do you encounter other issues, such as the inability to use a wired network, audio issues with external speakers, or the inability to read external devices?

Thank you.

Hi Jiaszzz_ROG, thank you for replying and I hope you can help! Answering your questions:

  1. Yes, all items completely disappear from Device Manager all at once, they do not disappear one by one.
  2. This issue does occur in Safe Mode.
  3. If I check "Show hidden devices" the devices do appear again, though they are greyed out.
  4. Yes, I do encounter issues -- wired network doesn't work, audio quality is degraded, etc.

Hello, @Rockmaninoff

Thank you for your confirmation.
So, the devices in the list disappear simultaneously within 3 to 5 minutes after booting, and the corresponding devices malfunction simultaneously?
Since this issue also occurs in safe mode, we recommend resetting the system and keeping your files, then reinstalling the latest drivers from the ROG STRIX X670E-I GAMING WIFI official website to see if the problem is resolved.

Thank you.
