X670e Hero stopped working

Had this board for a long time and its been solid like all previous Asus boards I've had over the years, until just yesterday from a simple power off.

Now for whatever reason it won't post. Turning it on results in no display signal and a solid yellow light on the board. Iv tried resetting ram to no avail and resetting CMOS.

This system that worked flawlessly now didn't work at all. And I have no clue what a shut down would do this. Looking for advise.

Anyone?  I'm still stuck with no response from Asus support. I even bought some more of the same ram and still same problem. System turns on. Lights turn on but ram and solid yellow light and error code just stuck on 00. Dunno what to do. Really need some help here.

Can you try reseating the CPU? Ensure for consistent mounting pressure and inspect the pin-pad.

Clear the CMOS and reattempt POST.

I guess im going to have to, but why would I need to reseat it from a simple shutdown of windows? This is not a new build and it was working fine before.

It's not necessarily either the shutdown event that caused the issue, or that it requires reseating. However, the fact the code is now being displayed does mean that there is an issue communicating with the CPU.

That was a mistake. I didn't mean to accept this as a solution..  But ever since the shut down, iv been getting that 00 error code. I will inspect the CPU. If there are no signs of damage on the socket or the pins, is there still a possibility that the CPU could be the reason for this or would that indicate that the motherboard is at fault, since I already tried new ram and same problem happens.

Hello @Domjam

Thank you for reaching out and for providing further updates. I’ve also removed your marking as the solution.

Regarding the situation you described, where the solid yellow LED appears and error code 00 is displayed when the system fails to boot.
In addition to checking whether the CPU hardware is functioning properly and correctly installed, we recommend reviewing the troubleshooting steps in the following two FAQs:
[Motherboard] ASUS motherboard troubleshooting via Q-LED indicators
[Motherboard] Common Q-CODE(Error CODE) and Troubleshooting
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please try minimizing your setup: remove the system from the chassis and install only the CPU (using integrated graphics if supported), the CPU fan, a single RAM stick in DIMM_A2, and the PSU. After clearing CMOS, check if this improves the display issue upon boot.

Thank you.

Thanks I have however already done that. And jus now, inspected the CPU. It looks fine along with the socket. Is it safe to say that the motherboard could very well be the issue as to why I can't post? Bare in mind I have no way to test CPU ad I dont have anything spare.

Hello @Domjam

Could you let us know the results of the minimal configuration test?
If the above guidance does not enable your system to boot into BIOS, we recommend cross-testing the CPU or memory in the minimal setup to further rule out any potential hardware issues.
However, if you’re unable to conduct cross-testing with spare components, please consider whether a repair inspection might be needed.
Thank you.

I already tried that along with inspecting the cpu and socket and still nothing. At this point I'm leaning towards the board just fir whatever reason breaking. Im requesting a return to the seller as I'm out of options.
