X570 E Gaming code 0d after BIOS update

I have an ROG Strix x570-e gaming motherboard, and up until a few days ago, was using 4x Geil Evo X II (AMD) Gray RAM (GAEXSY416GB3200C16ADC). It was working fine, running at 3200. I was not able to access BIOS at all, the splash screen came up, saying to hit DEL or F2 to go into BIOS, but every time I did, nothing would happen, it would boot directly into Windows 10. I decided to update BIOS. However, once updating BIOS to 5031, as soon as the computer is turned on, the fans all spin at maximum speed, and the motherboard reads 0d code, with an orange light next to DRAM. I have tried with one stick, 2 sticks, and four sticks, and it is the same every time. I can't even get into BIOS. I tried with some alternative borrowed RAM (G. Skill TridentZ F4-3400C16D-16GTZ), and it seems to work ok. I have reset CMOS several times, and no matter what I do, I can't get my RAM to work at all.

I can't afford to buy new RAM, the old GeIL RAM was working perfectly fine until I updated the BIOS. What do I need to do to get my computer working again with my RAM?

HI @Mapsking
It's not clear on the timeline in your post. Can you confirm at what point the system presented the 0d Q-Code and what you'd changed? As you say, it was working fine, and then subsequently say you were unable to access the BIOS.

Sure, two days ago, the system seemed to be working fine, I could access Windows, as normal, but I was unable to access BIOS. At that point, when I hit DELETE or F2 when turning on the computer, it would just completely bypass the BIOS, and load Windows directly. Then, later that day, I decided to update the BIOS to v. 5031. Once I did that, using the same RAM, I was not able to even get to the screen to hit DELETE to enter BIOS. At that point, when the computer is turned on, the fans immediately spin at max, the motherboard shows 0d, I am given a black screen, and I can not progress, and am forced to forcibly shut down the computer. When I swap out the GeIL RAM with the G. Skill RAM, the computer seems to work, the BIOS is accessible. Now, any time I turn the computer on with the GeIL RAM, it does the same thing mentioned, max fan speed, 0d on display, black screen, etc.

To clarify, you asked "...at what point the system presented the 0d Q-Code and what you'd changed?"
Only after I had updated BIOS to 5031 and then saved and restarted, did it show the 0d code, and that is all I had changed at that point.

Any follow ups, or ideas I can try, or any suggestions?

Is this at Optimised Defaults?  Be sure to test at stock with no EXPO Overclocking. Training behaviour can change between AGESA firmware updates which can sometimes impact OC.

1. GAEXSY416GB3200C16ADC is a two-DIMM kit, please only use one kit at a time. Mixing/combining memory kits is neither supported nor recommended by memory or board vendors.

 2. Are you using a CPU contact frame? If so, remove and revert to the stock CPU retention mechanism. This is because third-party contact frames can stress the substrate if incorrectly installed, which will impact OC range.

3. Make sure to try DOCP II.

I appreciate your answers, but have a few questions.

"Is this at Optimised Defaults?"
Likely not, because when I put the old RAM in, it does not even get to BIOS anymore. How do I do that?

"1. GAEXSY416GB3200C16ADC is a two-DIMM kit, please only use one kit at a time"
I have four of the same stick, but I don't know which two were part of the exact same kit. Is there a way to tell, or will any two work? So far, any time I have one, two, or four of them installed, it immediately errors out and does not go to BIOS.

"2. Are you using a CPU contact frame?"

I don't know what this is. I am using the default CPU slot on the motherboard, and it has a Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 RGB Black Edition on it. It has been there for a long time.

"3. Make sure to try DOCP II."

How do I try this when I can't even get into BIOS at all when the old RAM is installed?

1. Check the serial numbers. See here for more information on combining memory kits

2.Thanks for confirming

3. Clear the CMOS following the manual instructions
