X570 Crosshair Hero warm/cold start

Good day everyone, I would like to share a problem that has been following me ever since I purchased an ASUS motherboard, namely the ROG Crosshair VIII Hero X570. I am not completely sure whether the issue lies with the processor or the motherboard, but I hope someone here can help determine the root cause.

I will start with the system specifications:

  • MSI RTX 4060 Ti with 8 GB VRAM
  • 4 sticks of DDR4 3000 MHz Corsair Vengeance memory
  • AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D processor
  • Be Quiet! 700 W power supply
  • Two M.2 drives installed on the motherboard (480 GB and 1 TB)
  • One HDD and one SSD

The problem is that when the small diagnostic display on the motherboard shows the code 00, the system freezes on the ASUS ROG boot screen and does not respond to pressing F2 or DEL.

As can be seen from the situation, when the POST codes actively change during startup, the system either immediately enters the BIOS or shows a message about configuration changes and then redirects to the BIOS. A common feature in both of these cases is that the speaker beeps indicating a successful hardware check, and everything works: the motherboard LEDs light up and the keyboard is powered.

Considering the second scenario, after a successful boot into the system and BIOS configuration, the computer restarts and boots without any issues. However, as soon as the PC is turned off and then turned back on after about a minute, it immediately freezes again on the ASUS boot screen.

The following steps have been taken in an attempt to fix the issue:

  • Reinstalling the processor
  • Thorough cleaning of the CPU and the cooler
  • Disconnecting and reconnecting all storage drives
  • Testing with different amounts of installed RAM
  • Multiple CMOS resets
  • Booting with a minimal configuration (all of the above tests were also performed with a minimal setup)
  • BIOS rollback and BIOS update
  • And various other attempts

I apologize if some of the terminology is inaccurate; please feel free to correct me or ask for clarification if something is unclear. I hope I am not the only one who has encountered such a situation
