a month later after updating to the latest official BIOS from ASUS's website (for my ROG Strix B550-F, non-Wi-Fi version), I started encountering strange issues:
AIDA64 and DxDiag show incorrect BIOS version (2.9.9) and wrong build date (2016)
Motherboard name appears corrupted or blank in system tools
AI Suite III throws ATKEXCOM.AXDATA error and does not function
Armoury Crate doesn’t detect the motherboard anymore—only RAM is detected, and RGB fan control is missing
AsComSvc service fails to start, even after fresh reinstall
What I’ve tried:
Reinstalled Armoury Crate and AI Suite III
Did a fresh Windows 11 install
Manually deleted and recreated AsComSvc
Flashed older BIOS via EZ Flash
Flashed latest BIOS via USB BIOS Flashback (successfully shows 3621 with correct AGESA in BIOS)
Disabled Fast Startup in Windows
Changed BIOS Boot setting from Other OS to Windows OS
In the BIOS itself, everything appears correct: BIOS version (3621), AGESA, fan RPMs, build date, etc.
Yet in Windows, all system-level tools report random/wrong BIOS info and ASUS utilities won’t work.
Specs:
Ryzen 7 5800X
ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming (non-WiFi)
BIOS version: 3621 (Build date: Jan 2025)
PSU: Thermaltake 750AP Toughpower
Could this be DMI table corruption or a faulty BIOS chip?
My system works fine otherwise (no crashes or overheating), but ASUS services/apps fail completely and BIOS info is reported incorrectly in OS.
Anyone experienced this before or know how to repair/reflash DMI data?
Any tools or methods to verify/fix DMI corruption on ASUS boards?
