Hi there,
I just freshly bough a new PC with following specs:
AMD Ryzen 9950x3D
Asus Rog Strix x870e-e Gaming wifi
Asus TUF RTY 5080 O16GB Gaming
Gskil Trident Z5 2x32GB (F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RK)
Samsung 990 pro 2TB m.2 ssd
Bequite darkpower 13 1000W
The problem I am now facing is that everytime I boot the PC and start installing Windows 11 on it with an USB Stick the PC freezes at search for data storage devices.
Here are the thing I already tried:
Installed the latest BIOS version 1203
Reinstalled the USB Stick with media creation tool multiple times (USB has16GB)
Tried to install Windows without the Graphicscard
Checked if the m.2 ssd works with the integradet tool from asus in the BIOS
Used the other pcie gen4 slot for ssd (bottom right one) now its back on the left one
Tried both Ram sticks seperatley
Yet the PC stills stops and freezes at the same step (Searching for storage devices)
I am aware that my RAM is not optimal for a AMD Processor since it only has XMP3.0 and works better with Intel and orderd a diffrent set of RAM that should work fine (F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR) but I am not sure if the "faulty" ram sticks really cause those problems and the new one will fix it.
Does anyone know what may cause this problem or is my assumption wrong with the RAM sticks?

Bad CPU is what I determined. I tried several motherboards and several pairs of verified working RAM only for the computer to freeze at the exact same spots, including the disk search portion of windows 11 install. When I try to install Windows 10, im forced to manually reboot each step it required because it locked up when the windows env tried to trigger the reboot. After my first reboot attempt into Windows 10, it will freeze 9/10 times, and the 1 time it doesnt, will within 5 minutes of use. Put in my 5950x3D back into the same slot, everything comes up without any issues or lock ups.

Hi @Prunchy
On the subject of RAM, have you tried at Optimised Defaults without EXPO/XMP enabled? Best to leave this off prior to installing the OS.

Hi @Silent_Scone
Thanks for the help.
CPU pins look fine aswell as the thermalpaste and temperature(in bios settings 39°C). Unfortunatley reseating the Processor didnt solve my problem.
But I noticed that my NVME SSD gets recognized under Storage Information but not in the boot priority/order is this maybe cause the problems? And if so is there a way to solve this?

Set CSM to disabled, see if this helps.

Tried some stuff and got the ssd recognized as windows boot manager but i am not sure if windows is installed the right way.
Now when I start the Pc it boots up an freezes in the asus loafing screen. Turned csm on and off aswell as secure boot uefi standard and other os.
Maybe Hardware problem?

Potentially.
I take it you've tried using different removable media (USB pen drive)?

That's unfortunate. Didn't want to jump straight to extremes! Let us know how you get on with the replacement, though.

Hi there,
thanks for the inputs.
Unfortunatley the cpu was the problem. Just installed the replacement and everything works perfect.
