Hello
I have a TUF Gaming Z790-Plus D4 and the current bios is 0809, there is 20 bios updates up to the latest 1666, it is safe to update my motherboard directly to the latest or should I update one by one?
thanks

Hello @coelhu
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Since your BIOS version has a significant gap, we recommend updating incrementally to the latest version, such as you can update from 0809 to 1030, then from 1030 to 1220, from 1220 to 1601, and from 1601 to 1645, and so on.
Please note that updating the BIOS may carry the risk of the system not booting up, so it’s important to back up your data before proceeding with the update.
We suggest referring to the instructions in [Motherboard] How to update BIOS of the motherboard? (Including different generation CPUs) for detailed guidance.
Thank you.

From what i understood, they are generally cumulative in terms of FEATURES and FIXES
https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/asus-software/update-bios/td-p/865209
But, one sure thing is that the FIXES are CUMULATIVE.
So install the latest BIOS that have fixes, esp in your case that you're using a Z790 board and I assume you have one of the intel SKUs that are affected by the voltage issues.
Please ignore my suggestion and do @Jiaszzz_ROG's suggestion instead

It’s generally safe to update your motherboard directly to the latest BIOS version without going through each version incrementally. Most modern motherboards, including the TUF Gaming Z790-Plus D4, allow for skipping intermediate versions, as each new BIOS update includes the fixes and improvements from previous versions.
