Tuf X670e plus wifi slow boot and freezes in windows after start

Recently upgraded to the X670e Plus Wifi Motherboard (from the AM4 Rog Strix X570-f) and using Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000 Cl30 (2 x 16GB) RAM with a Ryzen 9 7950x3d CPU, Corsair Cooler in a a Corsair Case X570 Crystal with an MSi 4090 GPU and a corsair gold 850W PSU. windows 11 pro.

I've had the board for a week and invested (wasted) about 30 hours trying to sort out the bios, testing and changing RAM, running multiple tests etc to sort out the issues with this motherboard.
Tried every kind of solution within Bios, resetting CMOS, you name it, I've tried it, voltages, EXPO On/Off, manual speeds, etc. Everything.  4 NVME drives, 1 SSD drive. All drives and hardware work fine.

I have checked online and found people with the exact same issues. The issue is this.

Startup time is ridiculously long (up to 2 minutes). When reaching windows it freezes for 30 seconds. After boot it freezes on and off for 5 -minutes until settled. After that it is basically fine. or okayish, but not great. PC is quick and benchmarks CPU and GPU normally. All fine there.

Is this Motherboard unfit for purpose. I have never had an issue with previous motherboards. Rollback bios and changing settings did not work. Underclocking RAM did not work. This PC is quick enough without maxing it out or trying to overclock it because it is not really that important for video editing work.

Please can someone let me know what the issue is and whether there is a simple fix (apart from sending it back to the seller for a refund ).

I've had this board for some time, and recently started having TONS of issues (also running Windows 11).  It started with my PC randomly starting to hitch and run extremely slow (like, mouse wouldn't move for minutes, slow), and eventually freeze/BSOD. Clean install and the same issue would happen soon after install.

After lots of troubleshooting, I've identified that the issue is the mediatek wifi controller.

Try booting to Bios, going to advanced settings, and disabling the wifi controller.

In my case, this takes my computer from being non-functional (literally will not boot, BSOD, boot loops), to functioning perfectly.

On clean install, the PC functions fine until I either: (1) mess with the wifi controller in Device manager or (2) try to use Asus' utility to update the driver.  Any other attempt to update the driver has no effect on the system (wifi is not recognized/does not function and it functionally does nothing).  In the past, I've had issues with this board recognizing the Wifi card and BT, but recently, it just bricks when it interfaces with it.

Hi @Maxballroom

The freezing at Optimised Defaults would indicate clearly that the system isn't stable at stock. Have you attempted to reseat the CPU?

POST time can depend on the memory configuration and can take 2 to 3 minutes initially due to memory training. Memory Context Restore will circumvent some of these POST stress tests, but as the system is currently unstable I wouldn't recommend enabling this setting just yet.

Hello @Maxballroom

If the suggestions above have limited impact and the issue persists, could you record a video following the steps below in BIOS 3035 to help us better understand your described situation?
1) Start recording > Enter the BIOS main page to verify the currently recognized hardware devices and slots.
2) Shut down and clear CMOS.
3) Record the long boot time during a cold start.
4) Record any lag when entering Windows > As per your description, there is about 5 minutes of lag after startup—does this only occur with specific software or in certain use cases?

5) End the recording once the lag or freeze stops.
While performing the above recording steps, you may also monitor the system temperature or check resource usage in task manager, which could help identify any correlations.
Once the video is complete, please upload it to a cloud service and share the link with me via private message.

Thank you
