Hello, @zloichel

May I ask if your memory modules are currently installed in the recommended slots?
If you install a single module in the DIMM_A2 slot, can you overclock the memory without an unstable boot?

For memory installation, we recommend cross-testing with the memory listed in the QVL, as ASUS has verified the motherboard for the best stability and compatibility with these devices.
The KF560C36BBEAK2 is listed in the QVL as KF560C36BBEAK2-16, which specifies 2 x 8GB memory modules.

Thank you.

Hi @zloichel , the first start of a completely fresh system (typically when a CPU is installed) could take anywhere from 3-5 minutes for the motherboard to do a full POST test of everything that is connected including a very quick memory check. At this time, your memory sticks will default to their native (JEDEC) speed which could be 4800 MT/s. All of this is normal.

In order to get the speed closer to the one printed on the box, you will need to enable EXPO I by going into BIOS. Once you make this change, SAVE and RESTART your PC and if things go well then you will see your speed go above 4800 MT/s and closer to the listed speed on your kit.

i already do that - get orange light - and after that speed is 4800

Hi @zloichel , can you share some additional details? Like what BIOS version are your using? Are these memory sticks on the QVL list? When you go into BIOS, have you tried to use EXPO II if EXPO I is not working? Have you tried to use EXPO I but with a slightly lower memory speed? Please watch the YouTube video mentioned in the comment of https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/technologies-explained/memory-kits-overclocking-and-what-you-may-not-k... post. This post also explains quite a lot of things with regards to understanding your memory which might help as well.

bios version = 2613

i tried EXPO-1, EXPO-2, EXPO-tweak, i tried both EXPO-profiles (5600 and 6000), i tried manually set speed to 5400, 5200 - it boot only in 4800

thanks for the help!

I didn’t expect that you also need to check compatibility with the CPU
