Trying to undervolt/overclock i513600k

Hi, I'm brand new to this but I want to undervolt and overclock my i5 13600k to try and achieve some cooler temps and better performance.

I'm on the ASUS ROG Strix B760-A Gaming WiFi D4 with the latest BIOS 1663 microcode.

i5 13600k as shown in title.

Just watching the package temps while idling they can be anywhere from  45c to the 50's.

I've got the Gigabyte Aero 4090, in the Corsair 5000D Airflow with 10 fans and slightly aggressive fan curve (plenty of airflow).

If anyone can point me in the right direction, recommend some safe Bios settings for a beginner like me, tips & tricks etc that would be greatly appreciated! If it's easier to communicate I have a discord server here: https://discord.gg/Dxf854j7 or DM me: onetruericky on there.

Hello OneTrueRicky

With idle temp of 45c -50c, this could be that the windows power plan is set to high performance. Setting the windows power plan to balanced will throttle down the cpu voltage and clock speed at idle and give you much lower temps.

To undervolt, in the bios on the AI Tweaker page, you will want to use a negative offset for the cpu voltage. Undervolting also affects idle voltage, going too far will cause instability and BSOD's. You could start with a negative offset of -0.05v and test stability.

What cpu cooler do you have? If using an All In One cpu cooler, you could remove the stock thermal paste and use a quality thermal paste, something like thermal grizzly kryonaut.

Another thing to check is pump and fan speed of your cooler.

Hi Nate,I am currently on Balanced,I used to run in performance mode but haven't in a while. I run the Corsair h150i Elite Capellix, pump and fan speeds working properly. I tend to keep a fan curve to kick in around 30% at 40c, 50c 40%, 60c 50%, 70c 60%, 80c 80% and so on. And I use MX-6 on my block currently tly, I have some kryonaut lying around but have been doing some testing on this stuff for a few months now.

I'm not well versed on the numbers that run everything but I've been brushing up for a while now,my CPU does run 1.3-1.4 volts even after the latest microcode, I know that's nothing crazy just want to see if I can get into some learning of the undervolts/overclocks. I'm also running a Gigabyte Aero 4090 so trying to maybe squeeze a little more juice out of the CPU to reduce the bottleneck.
