Re: Stereo Mix (Tuf Gaming Boards)
I have been researching this issue since 2007. Exactly the same time Windows Vista was released.
I do have Stereo Mix available on my Asus board manufactured in 2021. I have my playback/ and record adjusted to the accurate settings. However, no audio is being detected. This may be in part of the RIAA involvement. If you perform extensive research between Microsoft and RIAA, you will see what has transpired back then, and continues to today.
What surprises me is that Realtek provides this functionality in their drivers. So the two culprits are the motherboard manufacturer, and Microsoft for signal re-routing.
But don't despair, there are free third party applications (remember that word?) It acts as a digital cable that provides a pure digital signal, so using Stereo Mix is obsolete. Stereo Mix would also capture system noises as well. But if memory serves me correctly, you can mute these sounds in the sound mixer, So question here is why does Realtek continue to include it in their driver catalog??
In addition, why am I not able to utilize a feature that I paid for?
