Also have the Z790 F Gaming WiFi and 2tb 990PRO nvme SSD and had the same errors logged in event viewer.

I wanted to answer to the original thread, but it was closed: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-motherboards/whea-logger-event-id-17-pci-ven-8086-amp-dev-a74d-...

Those errors have been solved by the newest firmware update Samsung provided for the SSD: Version 4B2QJXD7

Installed it via the Samsung magician tool.

Thank you @FrankPlawetzki. Confirmed fix: >12k events in past 24hrs before installing the latest Samsung firmware (via Samsung Magician); now 0 events since.

I have the same problem, a ROG Maximus Z790 Extreme with 2 Samsung 990 Pro 2 Tb installed on M2_2 and M2_3, both with latest firmware 4B2QJXD7, and Whea Logger Event id 17 fills the system event log. I have also two NVME on the DIMM.2 slot, a Kinsgton SKC3000 4 Tb and a Corsair MP600 Pro XT 4 Tb, both also with latest firmware from their vendors. All four NVME work without problems, but the multiple warnings remain in event log.

In my system the Samsung 990 Pro is in the first M2 slot below the CPU (M2_1). Did you fully power down the system after the firmware update? Maybe you could try to re-apply the firmware update, in case the magician tool allows that.

Hi Frank. I cannot use the M2_1 slot because I use the three PCIExpress slots, and PCIEX16(G5)_2 and M2_1 cannot be used at the same time. Yes, I did fully power down after firmware updates, that where done one at a time with fully power down. Magician tool does not allow to re-aplly the firmware update. It only shows they have the last firmware update (4B2QJXD7). Thanks.
