Slow boot between 3 to 5 minutes to start PC - ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI

keyvision
Level 8

I have a PC with the following specs:

  • Intel Core i7 14700K

  • 64GB RAM Acer Predator Vesta II RGB DDR5 6000MHz 32GB 2x16GB CL30

  • Drive: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB

  • Gigabyte 4060 Ti 16GB

  • Windows 11

The computer works perfectly, but it takes over 3 minutes to boot and gets stuck at the ASUS logo. From what I've read, I think it might be due to the RAM (not entirely sure), and I have XMP I enabled at 6000MHz.

Thanks a lot for the help!y1reupwi5x4c1.jpgCaptura de pantalla 2024-10-12 085333.png

Problem solved! The computer now turns on between 10 to 15 seconds, the problem was doing an old mechanical HDD hard drive that I have saving old photos and videos, I disconnected it from the motherboard and now the pc starts in less than 15 seconds!

Hi @keyvision

Does the same behaviour occur if you disable XMP?

If so, do you recall when it started happening?

Remove all USB devices and see if the same behaviour persists.

Hi,
I have removed the usb and deactivated XMP and it takes the same time, I have just calculated it, it takes 4 minutes with the TUF Gaming logo and below the circle going around.

I used this SDD before on a laptop and it took 10 seconds to boot and mount this computer 6 months ago and it started taking more than 3 minutes and I thought it was doing a windows 11 cleanup but even reinstalling everything didn't fix it

Thanks You!

Have you considered reinstalling the OS if the installation came straight from another system?

Was the first thing I did when this started happening, reinstall everything from scratch and the problem persists.
