i have exactly the same , my thoughts are that maybe not enough voltage is going to the cpu and it crashes from 5ghz to 500mhz until you restart , or some other value is cranked like the fclk

confirmed it the issue was the PBO - enabled , when  have set it up to auto seems to be fixed no more downclocks and it still boosts +200mhz , by my understandings PBO - enabled on asus cranks all values to 1000 which causes some issues on that cpu , fix your bios asus

Hello @mite_jan

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please share the model of your current motherboard and CPU?
Could you clarify whether this issue started right after the PC was built or if it began after some time of use following changes such as a BIOS update or component replacement?
How are you checking the CPU frequency? Are you using BIOS, Armoury Crate, or third-party software?
Please provide the brand, model, and installation slots or ports for your CPU, GPU, RAM (including the part number), SSD/HDD, and PSU.
Additionally, sharing screenshots of the CPU frequency drop and a video that fully documents the issue would help us better understand your problem.

Thank you.

Due to the local holidays, my responses may be slightly delayed.
For any urgent cases, we recommend reaching out to your local service center for further assistance. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Motherboard - Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming WiFi

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 7500F

i had before ryzen 5 7600x and i did not had this issue

i am checking the cpu frequency with task manager or aida , task manager shows 0.52ghz , armory crate was installed but i have just uninstalled it

today i have discovered something new , powered on the pc and straight away stutter even the mouse cursor doesnt move properly but managed to open the power plans and switched to different power plan than the one i had and then switched back to the high performance and the cores started working up to 5ghz normally

i did tried to reinstall the chipset drivers but the issue persis , now i am not sure that ryzen power plan was it up to the 3000 series or it can be used on 7000 series also so i can try it

btw pbo is set to +200mhz and curve optimizer negative -30 all cores

2 other people on different forum discussing the same at this point not sure if cpu related or ASUS issue as all the people reporting this issue are with asus motherboards (use google translate)

Hello @mite_jan

Sorry for being unable to participate in discussions or confirm scenarios on external forums. We will focus on addressing the issue you’re currently experiencing.
Regarding the situation you described, could you confirm if your BIOS is updated to the latest version, 3057, released on November 6, 2024?

We recommend clearing CMOS and booting into the system without making any BIOS changes to verify if the CPU throttling or unresponsive mouse cursor issue persists.

If the issue remains unresolved, kindly provide the following information to help us investigate further:
- The model and part number of your PSU and RAM.
- Two .txt files generated from your Windows system by following these steps:
1) Press WIN + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog, and type dxdiag → click OK.
2) Click Save All Information and select a save location → click Save.
3) Repeat the same steps with msinfo32 instead of dxdiag to generate the second file.
- A complete video recording of the issue. Please include the following steps in your recording:
Start recording> clear CMOS> Boot into the system and replicate the mouse lag or CPU throttling issue> Check and show your system’s power plan and related settings> Include any additional observations or troubleshooting steps>  End the recording.
You may upload the files and the video to cloud storage, grant access, and share a link with us for further analysis.

Thank you!

you cant really know when the cpu throttle/mouse lag happens , it can be good for a week and then it will happen , when it happens you can barely open anything

psu corsair rm850x

ram corsair VENGEANCE® 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 6600mhz ( i have it working either 6200 or 6400mhz)

someone was suggesting that disabling PROCHOT will fix it , but to do that i have to be in manual overclock mode , all i want is auto overclocking with PBO kicking in
