ROG Z790-I HIVE cable help

building a SFFPC, so got a Z790-I with a weird HIVE gizmo (from a store, with warranty), but the "special" HIVE cable is missing losing a lot of features with it (whoever thought of this HIVE - not good, not good)

Tried a 10GB/s type-C to type-A cable - didn't work (tried both sides up). Ended up using a SoundBlaster USB for sound - works ok, but still would like to try the "HIVE".

Any help on the "special" Asus HIVE cable - where to get one? Or special pinout etc? Asus only offers to RMA the whole board instead of sending a $10 replacement cable.

Regarding the explanation of ROG STRIX HIVE, please refer to the relevant information in the "[Motherboard]ROG FPS-II Card and ROG STRIX HIVE Function Introduction" and further confirmation on page 2-20 of the user manual for the ROG STRIX Z790-I GAMING WIFI.

Concerning the related accessories, may I inquire which specific cable you have lost?

Thank you. I tried a 10 GBps rated USB 3.1 (Gen 2 Type-A) Male to USB 3.1 (Gen 2 Type-C) Male. Apparently, I need a 20GBps USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C.

I am also looking for a cabe for ROG PSU - where can I buy one (just an additional cable, not another PSU)?

Specifically, i need a 2x8-pin to 16 pin PCIe

BTW, a constructive suggestion: current ROG PSUs provide 2 (two) CPU 8-pin cables and only 1 (one) PCI-e cable. Specialty PSUs such as SFF are for small PCs, usually with mini ITX boards, which boards usually have only 1 (one) CPU 8-pin socket. Instead of putting 2 CPU 8pin cables and 1 PCIe 8pin cable with SFF PSU, it would be much better (and actually make sense) to provide 2 PCIe 8pin calbes and 1 CPU 8 pin cable.

   Further comment to the PSU/cables team: an example from my other PCs: my current board (Gigabyte Z690 UD) does have two (2) CPU sockets; however one is 8 pin another is 6 pin. The EVGA PSU in my current PC has 6+2 CPU cables which can be used for 8pin, 8+6 pin or 8+8pin sockets on boards. Were I to try to use the Asus PSU, it would not fit (because of the mis-selection of ASUS PSU team which cables to supply - they apparently just don't build PCs).

Furthermore, even online PC builders commonly use only one (1) PSU 8pin cable even on boards with two 8+8 sockets. Provide 2 PCIe 8pins and 1 CPU 8pin in the cable kit - so Asus PSUs would make sense. Please share this suggestion with the cable team (preferably those who do know how to build a PC).

Regarding the Type A to Type C cable for connecting to the Hive and motherboard, may I inquire if you discovered its absence immediately after purchase? 
Have you tried contacting the original point of purchase to confirm this matter?

As for the PSU, is it also the 2x8-pin to 16-pin PCIe connection cable that you've lost?
I have PM you, and could you please provide both the product serial numbers for the motherboard and PSU, along with the requested information through PM?

Bump.

Does anybody know the "special" replacement cable that works with HIVE? No one at Asus support or among forum mods seem to know which replacement cable would work, why it needs to be inserted correct side up for the usb-C. BTW, the picture above has not all the correct lines underlined. The motherboard side port is not underlined.

Already tried USB3.1Gen2 type A to type C - didn't work. (tried both sides up). Internet says 3.1Gen2 and 3.2Gen2 are same, working at 10GBps.

Asus seems strange in this - a large company but don't have a spare cable to sell.
