Recently I've been having issues getting my mouse pointer in Windows to aprea when I switch on my PC (not sure about reboot).
Takes about 2~3 minutes for the mouse pointer show on the desktop.
At times I see the pointer chopping while moving.
I tested this with a Microsoft mouse too, sameresults.
And some USB portable flash drives disconnec while transfering large files.

My setup is old, but this started to happen very rescently.
Is it a sign a dieing motherboard?
Any thoughs only how I could fix or any hope?

Hello, @hansaG

May I ask if the USB ports, chipset, and related drivers are updated to the latest versions?
Have you considered cross-testing with a different mouse (e.g., a Bluetooth mouse) or using alternative USB ports to observe any variations in results?
Is the issue of USB drives disconnecting specific to the ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING, or have you observed a similar occurrence when cross-testing with other devices?
If clearing CMOS, booting under default BIOS settings, and updating all drivers do not resolve the issue, we recommend backing up your data and referring to the guide "[Windows 11/10] How to reset the PC," and try "Reset the PC and keep your files" to revert all changes made to the settings.

Thank you.

As the local holiday is ongoing, there may be further delays in responses.
We appreciate your patience in advance.
