My Wired LAN connection stopped working all of a sudden yesterday.
I cannot install LAN drivers from https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x670e-e-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_download... I just get errors in CMD and nothing installs.
I tried showing hidden devices on device manager, and then two LAN driver showed up, I tried updating an nothing happened and then uninstalling and there gone for good but still can't install new driver.
I cannot install Armory Crate, the installer says complete after a few seconds but does not install anything.
Tried updating and BIOS and resetting BIOS and various tweaks I found on the internet, nothing worked.
Tried downloading intel LAN drivers directly, didn't work.
I tried a bunch of other thing I cannot remember them all. My ethernet was working fine all the time I had this MOBO until poof it suddenly wasn't. No hardware or software changes or any windows updates within two weeks of the issue arising.
I tried resetting network settings in windows settings and through cmd prompt.
No option for LAN exists in windows setting, network control center, device manager, or anywhere else I can think of.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Fixed it with the dumbest possible solution I found somewhere.
Turn off PC and turn power supply off completely. When it turned back on the lan port showed up gain and the driver installed.

I got armory crate installed by reinstalling my current windows update, but there is no option to install lan drivers and there is still nothing related to LAN or ethernet in device manager, windows settings, network and sharing center, or anywhere else...

Strange as the issue is, my Crosshair X870E Extreme went to sleep mode, when I woke it up the Ethernet stopped working. Tried reinstalling drivers, shutdown, restart, rollback to old driver. You name it.
You know what fixed it? Threw the switch to the PSU, waited 10 seconds, turned it back on.
WTF is going on with asus boards? Something to do with sleep mode.
Used to have an am4 board, crosshair viii I believe, it wouldn't wake from sleep and you would have to turn the PSU off to resolve.
