ROG Strix X670E-A running the 2604 BIOS. Hard crash during gaming

Since upgrading to 2604, I've had two hard crashes, both during gaming sessions.  No crashes prior to 2604.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950 X3D; GPU: AMD 7900 XTX; RAM: 64gb GSkill DDR5 6gHz

The crashes are as if someone unplugged the computer.  Unlike some similar reports I've read, I do not need to cycle the PSU to restart.  Pressing the power button is enough.

Temps are not an issue.  3-fan AIO, four chassis fans, CPU fan, and 2 GPU fans.  Full tower case, less than three months old.  Good airflow and no dust accumulation.  Room has an ambient temp of 65F

Armory Crate updated at the same time the BIOS was flashed.  No other changes to the system since the BIOS flash.

Any suggestions?

Hello @GenJoeBishop

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the delayed response due to a public holiday in our region and any inconvenience this may have caused.
May I ask which BIOS version you updated from before installing version 2604, and did you clear CMOS after the update?
If the issue persists even after clearing CMOS, with all BIOS settings at default (including EXPO disabled), does the system still experience crashes?
In addition to monitoring room temperature, it is also important to track hardware and system temperatures, as they can be key indicators. Aside from the frequency and specific usage scenarios in which the crashes occur, we recommend paying close attention to the CPU, GPU, and system temperatures at the moment the issue happens.
Additionally, according to the ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI official website, the latest BIOS version is 2704, released on January 23, 2025. We suggest updating to this latest version, clearing CMOS, and checking whether the issue persists.

Thank you.

Due to the local holidays, my responses may be slightly delayed.
For any urgent cases, we recommend reaching out to your local service center for further assistance. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
