Hello,
I am having trouble getting 5.1 surround sound to work. I have the default drivers installed, "Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9411.1 For Windows 10/11 64-bit," but the option for surround sound format does not appear in the audio settings. I have a home theater system connected to the optical port of the card, and when I test the compatible formats, the 5.1 works fine. However, only 2-channel formats appear when I want to change the default format of the device. Does anyone have any idea or know how to resolve this? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi @grifozero , you will get better help if you can post a picture of what you mean by 5.1 works and not working. Can you post a picture of your SOUND Panel explaining your issue so we can give it a try to help resolve your issue?

Hello, @grifozero
May I ask if you have updated the OS and BIOS to the latest versions?
Based on your description, you have correctly installed the 5.1-channel system, but the Realtek control panel does not show surround sound settings.
We recommend referring to [Motherboard] Audio I/O connections setting and Audio 2, 4, 5.1 or 7.1-channel configuration for software setup instructions.
If you have other audio devices or audio control software connected, we suggest disconnecting or disabling them from the system during testing.
Thank you.
