ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI Lag during Post + in Windows

Ati77
Level 7

Hello!

I have a problem where during the startup I have serious lag, and the whole computer is slowed.
Once in windows it can continue to lag as can be seen at one of the youtube video.
Solution can be that I restart multiple times until it re-times the RAM (if not mistaken with the white LED on the MB), but sometimes if the computer sits in windows for like 5-10 min, it can be also good. (if it laggs, it is even a pain to move the mouse to restart from windows) - also BIOS can be really bad to navigate in it. - even with keyboard.

Sometimes for a period of time the problem goes away. It happened with BIOS 09XX something, continued with BETA bios 1410, and happens with new 2214 too.

If the computer loads normally (today was needed only 1 restart) it works like a charm, gaming, anything is stable even when running tests.

The RAM is on the QVL list. (first had one which is not on the QVL)
corsair vengeance lpx ddr5 2*16 4800 which got changed to Kingston Fury Beast 2*16 4800. So not even a crazy RAM which should not be ok.

I tried Auto, EXPO I, EXPO II. Not changing anything.
Tried to play around with Memory context restore + power down but also not helping.

PC "turning" on check from 1:10, but of course it took 1:10 even to see something...:

Bios slight lagg: https://youtu.be/vIfK_hHI1-8

In windows lagg if computer start laggish: https://youtu.be/c06CZ6H-jok

Not sure if the WIFI modul can be the cause, but not an option to remove it like now for me. - also as a WIFI MB I expect not to-.
Thanks for any tip!

Hello, @Ati77

Thank you for reaching out to us and providing the details along with the videos.
Based on the three videos highlighting Problem 1 with BIOS lag, Problem 2 with extended boot times, and Problem 3 with lag during Windows login, could you clarify if these issues occurred after updating to BIOS version 2214? Did you clear CMOS after the update?
Do you still experience lag and prolonged boot times under default BIOS settings?

To further assess your situation, kindly provide the following:
- all the images of manually setting in BIOS, or whether it is the default
- the brand, model name, and part number of the DRAM currently installed
- the brand and model name of the CPU, GPU, SSD/HDD, and PSU currently installed
- are there any extensions or adapters used to connect any devices, such as GPU or SSD?
- the OS version and OS build

Thank you.

Hello, will provide the asked details on Friday (similar time to this), thank you! (not sure if topics getting locked or not)
Problem existed on BIOS 09XX (not sure which was it.- not on the BIOS page anymore and I don't remember), and 1410 also had these problems.
Not cleared CMOS after the update, will do it on Friday.
Yes with loading optimized default also happens, today again, first turn on was like that, one restart, MBoard white LED, laggy start, but in windows no lag today on 2nd try.
Only 1 keyboard + mouse connected + the wifi which comes with the board. (on post I see 2 Keyboard mentioned. is that normal?)

Thank you,
Cheers

Hello,
Did the CMOS clear. On first startup after, still lagged.. in bios computer froze. turned off and on, was normal on 2nd try again. (but noticed that on 1st try I have the Core Voltage of 1.320 on 2nd try 1.480) is that normal?
First will link all the picture - but since happening on auto, even with default, I guess most of these data is known to you-:

Only the wifi is used with the computer, nothing else. (which bundled with the Motherboard)

As mentioned happened with all 3 BIOS version I used also happens everything on default.

Hello, @Ati77

Thank you for providing the specifications and photos.
Could you confirm if, after clearing CMOS and restarting, the issue of booting, POST, and system lag persisted until the second restart, when the problem was resolved?
Have you experienced any further lag during daily use afterward?
If so, does restarting after clearing CMOS again help resolve the issue?

Thank you.

Due to the ongoing regional holidays, my responses may be slightly delayed.
Thank you in advance for your patience.‌‌‌‌ 🙂

Not always until the 2nd restart. for example yesterday had more.
Yes it persist after CMOS clear, while nothing changed in BIOS.
If the system load okay, no further problem during everyday use even in games.
The way I see CMOS clear did nothing. Nothing changed.
