Problems started today with xmp after updating bios to v.1402. After update xmp turned off, above 7000 mhz does not work, issues a BSOD or freezing. 2x16gb Memory Patriot Viper Xtreme 5 32GB DDR5-8000, i7 14700k. Now wait for the next bios update?

Hello @SteamSerg
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the hardware information and context.
Could you please confirm if your memory is installed in the DIMM_A2 and B2 slots?
Would you encounter blue screens or system instability after clearing CMOS and without enabling any memory overclocking or XMP settings?
As the memory QVL for the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO and 14th Gen CPUs does not list 2x16GB modules with an 8000MHz frequency, we recommend cross-testing with memory modules listed on the QVL.
Or try installing a single module in the DIMM_A2 slot and setting up overclocking, once stable, gradually add the second module.
Since memory overclocking stability is related to your build, if the default XMP I parameters are not stable, please consider manually adjusting the overclocking settings.
Also, please refer to the Memory Kits - Overclocking and What You May Not Know guide.
Thank you.

Thanks for the answer. Initially, the memory was installed in the correct slots, 8000 MHz worked for me from the very beginning of the build in bios version 0220. At that time I was glad that I didn't have problems with the stability of 8000 mhz XMP.
Well, CMOS cleaning did not fix the problem.
It only helps to lower the frequency to 7000 mhz
