Hello everyone, I have the following configuration here.
Mainboard: ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO
CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K
RAM: Corsair DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) - CMH64GX5M2B5600C40
BIOS: Version 1202
BIOS Setting: Intel Baseline Profile
I had installed Windows 11 and I always get various blue screens or the PC freezes completely. Now I thought I would reinstall Windows. But here, too, the PC either hangs or a blue screen appears. I tested it with two different USB sticks and also with Windows 10 and 11.
Can anyone here help me find the problem?
Best regards

Hi @chaos8374
Please ensure the following.
1. Memory Modules are inserted into slots A2 & B2.
2. Ensure XMP overclocking is disabled and retest.

Hi, @Silent_Scone
1. yes they are in A2 & B2
2. [Extreme Tewaker] / [Ai Tweaker] -> [Ai Overclock Tuner] is set to Auto. There is a choice of Auto, Manual (default frequency 100.0000), XMP 1 or XMP 2. What should I set here?

For sake of troubleshooting, it should be left in auto.
leave all parameters as they are and select Intel Baseline Profile. Enable and reboot.
Retest stability.

Okay, that's how it was set. I have now tried to install Windows again using a USB stick. Once the PC froze at 75% and once I got “STOP CODE: IRGL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL” and the other time “STOP CODE: ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READ_ONLY_MEMORY”.
Do you have any more ideas?

Hello, @chaos8374
We would recommend that you consult the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO user manual to ensure that all hardware components have been correctly installed.
This includes reinstalling the CPU and verifying that the pins are not bent.
Kindly try system installation with all overclocking settings defaulted after clearing CMOS.
For guidance on system installation steps, please refer to "[Motherboard] How to install Windows 11?"
Thank you.

If the CPU is unstable with the base profile and no memory overclocking, I would contact Intel.

Did you use a contact frame? If so, recheck it - the CPU might not be seated properly.
