ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO and 14900K Voltage question

Phunction

I found a couple of spots on the net that the voltage should be limited to 1.45v, is that the case?

I have the latest bios and have it set to performance settings, not extreme.

So far my highest p-core voltage has been 1.504, same with e-core. Highest temprature is 90 with an average of 40

Is that fine? Do I actually need to limit voltage? I have not been able to find any definite answers.

Also, I am not actually sure how you limit max vid.

Hi @Phunction

No,  that is not the case.

1. The VID is factory-fused by Intel and differs from CPU to CPU.

2. Using the latest micro code (0x12B) voltage is capped to 1.55v.

1.45v is an arbitrary number thrown around by some enthusiasts.
