Hi,
My ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO works perfectly with an i9 12900K.
But when I install a new i9 14900K the BIOS freaks out displaying random problems including
- Cannot find BOOT SECTOR
- Showing my drives all configured for RAID (when they never were)
- Drives not showing (UEFI unavailable)
Many more problems I can't list everything but it's a complete failure of BIOS to function with the 14900K CPU
BIOS is latest Version 3501
Appreciate any help, thank you,
Simon

Hello, @cognitivefeedba
May I ask if you have checked whether there are any bent pins in the CPU socket?
If you perform a cross-test by reinstalling the original i9-12900K, does the issue get resolved?
If so, we recommend contacting the place of purchase for after-sales support for the CPU.
Thank you.

Hi Jiasz
Thanks for responding.
No pins are bent or damages on the motherboard.
The i9 12900K is back in and working correctly, which confirms there is no physical damage to the board.
Thank you
