I noticed today the new microcode is out, but the title says its for the EVA motherboard and yet the bios appears on the original ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO page, I am reluctant to update in fear that there is a difference?
I await your wisdom 😄
Cheers
Ryan
UPDATE: Here is the reply from Asus: Kindly be advised that the BIOS version 3802 is currently in BETA, meaning that crashes or potential issues may occur. Aside from this aspect, the 3802 version is currently suggested for the EVA owners, but the one for the HERO will also come in due time .

Same, was just about to hit download when I saw it was a beta version plus for the "EVA" model. It also adds an E at the end of the usual name with the bios re-name (MZ690HE.CAP when its usually MZ690H.CAP) so wont be running this just in case.
Have to add as well it doesn't seem right to be dropping this in a beta version even if it's under the guise of giving it to users asap, after so much instability, whoever you blame, many have been waiting for this fix for months and to be given it in a test form seems a bit of a piss take.

Eek that is a good catch. Unfortunately I've already flashed my Z690 Hero w/13900K. The update completed and appears fine outside issues I had prior to update (possibly degraded CPU).

I emailed Asus about this but getting a reply will be a hit or miss... lol

That "but" makes it sound like it isn't the right one for a non Eva version even though they are both Hero models. Looks like it's best to just wait for the proper update and not the beta one then.
