Hello,
I have the ROG MAXIMUS Z690 EXTREME on a brand new install of Win10 and I have *front-panel* USB port issues. USB3 devices will not connect, but USB2 devices seem to connect fine. Device Manager has the yellow triangle by "Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub" and the hardware ID reports "USB\VID_174C&PID_3074", which googles as "ASMedia ASM1074 SuperSpeed USB Hub".
I've downloaded and updated BIOS to latest version (4505), downloaded latest updates for chipset, Serial IO, ran ASUS DriverHub, but this has been a persistent problem for some time now, I'm striking out with ideas. For what it's worth, I also have had Win11 on this machine and it had the same exact issue, I thought if I dropped to Win10 and found all the drivers before upgrading I could knock this out, but no go.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Update - I figured out what the problem SEEMS to be (but I have no solution). By unplugging the USB3 header from the motherboard and restarting the PC, I've figure out that if I unplug the cable connecting my case's front panel connection that the computer recognizes the device just fine and loses the exclamation point in Device Manager. When I plug the cable back in, the above problem resumes just as before. For now, I'm just living with it as USB2 only up front, my USB3 works off the rear motherboard ports, so I can manage. One of those annoying problems I guess I'll have until I build my next computer unless someone has ideas. My case is a BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900. Thanks for reading.
