Hi everyone. I keep getting QCode 64 and boot loop after I update to bios 0904. When I roll back to 0816 the machine boots fine. I have tried unplugging everything (USB devices etc.), reseating the RAM, trying one stick of RAM in each DIMM slot ((did that with both sticks)), removed the sound card. I am unsure what is causing it or if it's just a dodgy bios. I have downloaded it a couple of times to hopefully ensure it's not corrupted but that didn't work either. My machine is as follows.
ROG Z790 Hero
Intel 13900KF
32GB Kingston Fury 5600 - KF556C36BBEAK2-32 (I have a feeling this is not on the QVL and might be the root cause of the issue, if someone can verify this is likely my problem, I would appreciate it).
If you need to know anything else or I've missed anything important, let me know.

They've certainly dropped the ball somewhere here, wouldn't surprise me if it was with QVL, but who knows.

I have the same issue with you. I sent the motherboard to the ASUS service center, the sucessuflly updated the BISO from 0816 to 1303, when they send it back, I tried it and everything is fine. When I update the BIOS from 1303 to 1402, the issue shows again. I unplugged everything except the CPU, even the cpu fan was disconnected. It doesn't work. The last code shows b4 and it reboot again and again. When I roll back to the 1303, everything is fine. Now I can't update BIOS by myself and the ASUS service center can't find where the problem is, My PC: 13900K / Z790 HERO / ROG STRIX 4080 OC 16GB / G.SKILLS 7200 16GB*2 ( in the QVL list). Ask for help.

Hello, today I successfully updated the bios firmware form 1402 to 1501 without disconnecting any internal or external USB devices/headers.
I don't know now if it is because I already had 1402 installed but maybe for those who are still being stuck in the b4 loop with bios version 0816, try to update directly to version 1501.

I'll give 1501 a shot when I build up some more patience for this lol. Got almost no faith in ASUS at this point though.
