ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO cant run EXPO after bios update 1415. Was working without problems  before this bios update. Now I can only boot using stock auto settings 2400MHZ

Using  Memory - DDR5 - Corsair - CMT32GX5M2D6000Z36
UPC: 840006698180
Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 32GB (2x16GB) PC5-48000 (6000MHz) DDR5, 36-36-36-76, 1.35V, Dual Channel Kit, AMD Ready, AMD EXPO Technology

Any help would be appreciated, I am massively disappointed. All of the recent negative media coverage and now this will make me rethink my next purchase very carefully.

Hello, @chrisseear

May I ask, when you mentioned that you couldn't run EXPO, does that mean that when EXPO is enabled in the BIOS, the system fails to boot or encounters a blue screen error?
After updating the BIOS to version 1415, did you try clearing the CMOS first?
The memory model you provided doesn't seem to be listed in the QVL list for the ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO.
If possible, please trying a memory model listed in the QVL list for further confirmation.

Thank you.

Thankyou for replying Jiaszzz_ROG

The System fails to boot and I have to press F1 to enter setup.

I cleared CMOS before and after bios upgrade with both restore defaults and the clear CMOS button on the back.

This is the second set of memory I have had for this motherboard. It was the best option Scorptec (Place of purchase) had available when replacing the last set and it worked perfect until the latest bios upgrade. Using the old bios isn't really an option if there is a risk of burning out the motherboard.

I see it isn't on the list, I don't know if the list was changed since all of the voiding warranty drama started. I just know it worked fine until the last bios upgrade. Casually going to the shop for another $500 AUD set of ram isn't really an option.

Can someone suggest a tweak that would make this AMD Ready, AMD EXPO Technology RAM work thanks. This motherboard cost $1000 AUD and I expected better.

Thanks again for replying.

Hello, @chrisseear

In order to comply with AMD's new specifications, we have adjusted the relevant settings in BIOS 1415, resulting in the upper limit of SoC voltage being lowered to 1.3V.
Regarding your question, if you don't enable EXPO and simply boot the system with the default BIOS settings, would it be able to boot up properly?

Thank you.

Yes the system boots without expo enabled. But in my opinion that is not good enough. Before the latest bios version the PC did operate with expo enabled.  I purchased this motherboard and ram to run at 6000 mhz. I don't want to sound like a complainer but 15 percent performance reduction is not OK. I am hoping Asus release a better version soon. This same thing has happened to many people. I can honestly say if this problem isn't resolved I can't see myself using Asus in the future.

Hello, @chrisseear

Thank you for confirming.
However, after verification, the CORSAIR 2x16GB RAM Speed 6000 memory modules you provided are not listed in the Qualified Vendor List for the ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO motherboard.
We would recommend referring to the QVL list as well as the purchasing and installation guide provided on the same page.

Thank you.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply. From what I understand AMD agesa ver 1.0.0.7 only supports memory speeds up to 4400. They expect 1.0.0.9 to fully support 6000 again. In fact AMD recommended not to build bios's based on 1.0.0.7 calling it a buggy mess. But because of the bad press ASUS was getting they rushed out this pile of ****** anyway. Hopefully future releases will solve the issue. I understand this isn't all Asus fault. But they are not been honest about the situation and are only seeking to cover their ass.

My F5-6000J3636F16GX2 memory kit is on the QVL list and I'm having the same problem with the 1415 BIOS on my X670E Crosshair Hero. I have a 7700X CPU in it. This motherboard cost me $700 USD so I would really like a fix to this very soon.

I did refer to the QVL list when purchasing.

Corsair - CMT32GX5M2D6000C36 is on the QVL list

Corsair - CMT32GX5M2D6000Z36 is the same RAM but AMD certified EXPO ready version.

Please stop trying to make it my fault.

I'm using a TUFF x670e Wifi with a 7950x3D and I'm also having boot failures with Expo Enabled on the lated Bios revision, Seems like when that voltage limit for the 7800x3D came out Expo has not worked for me sense. Boots just fine without Expo enabled, but fails everytime when Enabled, I'd hate to revert my Bios to a version before a critical damaging fix was made, so hopefully a new Bios can be released soon that allows me to run Expo again. This CPU performs much better when Expo works..
