Hello, @cmszorc

May I inquire if the situation you described occurred after any recent changes were made? For instance, updating the BIOS or connecting an external device
Regarding the unidentified device connected via Thunderbolt EX 4, could you please provide the brand and model of the device?
Kindly confirm the current BIOS version, related driver versions, and which PCIe slot the device is connected to, and share the troubleshooting methods you have attempted so far.
Has there been any manual adjustment made within the BIOS, such as manually adjusting the PCIe slot or chipset settings?

Thank you.

The card is a ASUS thurnderbolt EX4.

Nothing manual changed in the settings of the bios.

I have a ROG STRIX B650 - A Gaming wifi motherboard.  The bios version 0809  Release date 10/23/2022.   There is no thunderbolt option in the bios.

Hello, @cmszorc

According to the official website of the ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI, the latest BIOS version is 1636, released on August 4, 2023.
It is recommended that you update to the latest BIOS version, clear the CMOS, and then check if the Thunderbolt device connected to the motherboard can be correctly recognized.
Additionally, we suggest referring to page 2-16 of the user manual for the steps on "To install Thunderbolt series card" to install the Thunderbolt EX 4.

Thank you.
