Hi,
I recently build my new pc. But ive come across what seems to be an infamous expo issue. Whenever i try any of the expo profiles and leave the bios, my pc refuses to boot and the motherboard ram led stays on until i turn off the pc. I have tried setting the expo settings manually but that didnt work either. I build the same pc for my nephew but with another board and his expo worked no problems. I slotted the ram in slot A2 and B2, i tried running with 1 ram but that also didnt work. Am i missing key settings?
Mobo: Asus rog b650-a gaming wifi
Bios: newest ver 1811
Ram: G.skill tridentz ddr5-6000 (F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR) cl-30
Another smaller issue is that armoury crate doesnt recognize the ram in aura, which means i cant change the lighting.

Hello, @Semmie
May I ask if you cleared the CMOS after completing the BIOS update to version 1811?
As per your description, the red Q-LED light may indicate an anomaly during the CPU's POST during startup.
Please refer to the relevant instructions in [Motherboard] ASUS motherboard troubleshooting via Q-LED indicators to troubleshoot the issue, and the related FAQ as [Motherboard] Troubleshooting - No Power/No Boot/No Display.
Meanwhile, according to the ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI support page, the G.skill tridentz ddr5-6000 (F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR) seems not to be listed in the QVL list.
We recommend you refer to the instructions in [Motherboard] How to query (CPU/memory) QVL List?, check the "purchasing and installation guide" under the "Memory" section on the official website of the ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI's support page, and cross-test the memory in the QVL list.
Thank you.

Hi @Jiaszzz_ROG ,
I'm back after buying a new RAM kit with some disappointing news. I went ahead and checked the QVL list. According to the list, the G.Skill F5-6000J3238G32GX2-TZ5NR is supported by the motherboard. Today, I received the kit and installed it as follows: I reset the CMOS and inserted the new supported F5-6000J3238G32GX2-TZ5NR 2x32GB RAM sticks. My PC posted, and I could enter the BIOS. I turned on EXPO I and exited the BIOS, where I encountered the same issue as with my previous RAM kit. My PC refuses to boot, and I had to reset CMOS again. This time I tried EXPO II, with the same issue. I reset CMOS again and tried with 1 RAM stick, booted into the BIOS, set it to EXPO I again with only one RAM stick, same issue.
I put the RAM in slot A2 and B2. With the single stick, I put the RAM in A2 on the first attempt and also tried it on B2 just in case. I'm still on the newest BIOS version 1811. I uninstalled Armoury Crate with the uninstall tool and reinstalled it. It did NOT fix the issue of the RAM kit not being picked up by Armoury Crate (I still can't see the RAM as a lighting option in Aura).
I am a bit clueless on what to do next. Am I missing something here?

Hello, @Semmie
May I ask if you are still experiencing unresolved issues at the moment?
Have you tried the DOCP I option in the memory overclocking settings, and if so, did the outcome remain the same?
If the issue persists, could you kindly assist by providing the following information to help us further investigate?
- What software or hardware changes occurred before this issue surfaced?
- When you fail to boot after configuring memory overclocking, are any Q-LED indicator lights on?
- the images of the setting in BIOS
- the brand and model name of the CPU, GPU, and PSU currently installed
- are there any extensions or adapters used to connect any devices, such as GPU or SSD?
- the OS version and OS build
Thank you.

Hi @Jiaszzz_ROG,
Thank you for your response. When i turned on the expo i had indeed reset the cmos, but that didnt resolve it.
Now it does make sence since its not on the QVL list, massive oversight by me. I will order a qvl supported ram kit in the next few days and report the progress here. Thank you for pointing it out.
