RGB control for TUF Gaming TF120 - Splitter to motherboard or ARGB hub

Greetings,

I purchased a few packs of these fans.  In my past I have used splitters and wired the fans to the motherboard.

If I use the included hub, how does Armory Crate address the hub?  Does it "see it" as one fan or are they separately addressable?   In short, is there any difference or pros and cons of using the hub vs. splitters?
Thanks!

Hello @BJBBJB

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the delayed response due to a public holiday in our region and any inconvenience this may have caused.
May I ask the complete model of the motherboard you are currently using?
When using a fan hub included with the fan, Armory Crate will recognize the hub and treat it as a single fan group, rather than individual fans. Specifically, all fans connected to the hub will be managed collectively, meaning you will not be able to control the settings of each fan individually within Armory Crate. You will only be able to adjust the speed or mode of the entire fan group.
The difference when using a hub or splitter may include factors such as the inability to control fans individually, the need for an external power cable, and varying control capabilities. Please consider these factors based on your specific configuration needs.

Thank you.

Thanks so much!  I have since moved to the TR120 reversible fans on the ROG Strix X870E-E. With 3 on bottom, 3 on side, and 3 on the AIO (stock Strix not reversible) plus one in back, and only 3 Aura headers, I have one unconnected fan for RGB  if I only daisy chain 3.  Can I daisy chain 4 or should I use a hub, with 3 fans in one and a single fan on another hub port?

Thanks,
