Reseating CPU Asus 790 hero

Hello,

I recently removed my 13900ks from the socket on my mobo to clean and install a new AIO cooler.

Before removing, I powers off, flipped switch on Psu and physically unplugged.

Removed old heat spreader, removed CPU, cleaned old paste, inspected pins, etc.

Reinstall the same CPU, new heat spreader, torqued evenly (very lightly but secure) and on first boot it did not recognize the same CPU and gave me the new CPU detected screen.

Is this normal? I have since rebooted and the screen does not appear anymore but I thought it strange that it did not recognize it as the same CPU.

Thanks for any info.

Hi @kpeklund91
As longas the system functions as it should and the message doesn't appear on every boot, you can ignore it. It's plausible a particular pin was not making proper contact prior, for example.
