Hello @CombinE54
Thank you for reaching out to us. Regarding the two points mentioned in your post:
1. About the installation issue: Could you clarify what you mean by "unable to install," and what are your current OS version and OS build?
The support page for the ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO provides the Realtek Audio Driver V6.3.9600.2393 for Windows 11 64-bit.
Could you share a video demonstrating the installation failure or any error messages encountered when attempting to install this version?
Please refer to [Motherboard] How to install motherboard drivers and utilities? and install the driver by downloading it from the website and running "AsusSetUp.exe" or by using Armoury Crate.
2. About the headphone issue: May I ask what the brand and model of the headphone is, and have you cross-tested with other headphones or speakers, and if so, do they exhibit the same behavior you described?
To better understand the situation, could you record a video following these steps:
Start recording> Show the connection port of the headphones
> Confirm the audio driver version, headphone device name, and driver version in the system
> Capture the system information and settings while the audio is undistorted
> Put the system to sleep and wake it up
> Record the moment when the Amplify Level changes and the distortion occurs
> Include any additional explanations or troubleshooting methods you’ve tried> End the recording.
Thank you!
