Random crashes with X670E Hero

Before i go into the nuts and bolts let me spec out what i have.

X670E Hero - BIOS 1303
7950X3D
ZOTAC 4090 AMP AIRO
G.SKILL Z5 Neo EXPO 32GB 6000MHz F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR
CPU and GPU custom watercooled (EKWB parts)

So the other night while attempting to play Jedi Survivor the onboard Bluetooth disappeared (not in device manager etc), odd I thought but not a deal breaker and not worth the 2 months i was quoted i would be without the board, anyway my fault finding was as follows:-

Applied my clonezilla image of my machine in case it was a rogue update, Image is from 2 month ago when the system was built (clean image OS, drivers and AV) but the device was still missing.

Clean build of Windows 11 Pro from freshly downloaded ISO, no device.

Reached out to ASUS who said run the diagnostics in MyASUS app but there are none.

I had some new fans which i was waiting on installing on my Rads and thought no better time than now, they all connect to a fan controller so all i did was unplug 6 and plug in 6 to the same controller (all noctuas) and tidy the cabling, now the bluetooth is showing again but randomly the PC now just shuts down, no BSOD logs but 6008 IDs in event viewer, to power back on I need to either turn off the PSU and turn back on (Seasonic TX1300) or use the onboard ReTry button.

I'm at a loss and kinda out of ideas so any help is welcomed.

Swapped PSUs with another Seasonic though..

Not ruling out that it isn’t on ASUS/X3D implementation, and maybe it’ll get fixed with a BIOS update. But I do feel like the shutdown is from the PSU. Maybe it’s right to shutdown, or maybe it’s a flaw. I think in this case all can be true. I’ll test this theory and swap out the PSU on my system and report back.

Very well...keep us updated! If you didn't know, today Asus released the new non beta bios 1415 and now I am testing it with Expo on...so far so good, but it's early to say

edit: guess what? Pc shutdown just after I finished writing this reply...

I am suffering for the issues guys you are mentioning and I don't have a seasonic psu...
I did manage to stabilize The pc for a while by setting custom voltages limit the cpu to 4950Ghz but with the latest bios (1415) system won't be stable ever again... I will try and return the mobo and proceed with MSI...

P.S. and I don't own an X3D CPU.., I am on an 7950X

I'll echo the good luck, braver man than I. If the PSU is protecting the hardware from voltage damage then i'm glad i paid the cash for it.

Just saw the BIOS, will apply as it is an offical and not a Beta just fos ******z and giggles.

So been a few hours so far, I did reset the BIOS before applying but with EXPO II enabled all working but also my bluetooth is back!! Not counting this as a win yet though as only been 4 hours since last post.

Keep us posted, doesn’t look like it resolved it for @Grifil, I updated it as well, and got a few hours of game time in without any crashes. However that’s not that uncommon. Just want to rule out if it’s the BIOS update or PSU. Should get my replacement tomorrow. Went with an MSI MEG Ai1300P.

After that initial crash, I played for 2/3 hours and everything was fine…but as you say, that is not uncommon!! Keep us updated...I really wouldn't change my TX 1600

Hello, all

We have released the formal version of BIOS 1415 for the ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO on our official website.
The synchronization of different country-specific websites may experience slight delays, but it is expected to be available on the official website within 24 hours.
Please try updating to the latest BIOS version and performing a clear CMOS before verifying the problem again.
Please refer to ASUS BIOS updates and warranty coverage for ASUS AM5 platform motherboards with Ryzen™ 7000 series p... if needed.

Thank you.

Appreciate some official response here - it would be great to get one related to the topic we're discussing. At this point, it still points to an ASUS problem.

My hunch (so far, approaching 24 hours of uptime, longest yet as I typically do not leave my PC on 24/7) was seemingly right about it being the PSU tripping some kind of protection and shutting down. The Seasonic may just have sensitive OCP settings, where this MSI is a bit more lenient - but the fact that through their monitoring software I am getting warnings/errors regarding OCP seems very telling.

At this point I am unaware if it was wiser to leave the Seasonic in place (maybe it was helping reduce possible degradation of my hardware) or if it was just tuned very sensitively. Either way, two PSUs showing issues with this build is a problem. And there is no questioning issues regarding this motherboard + 7800X3D.

I'm not feeling confident that this motherboard is handling power the way it should, and I am on the latest official BIOS release. My memory is on the QVL, and I'm simply using the features bundled in this product - no manual overclocking, etc.

Does ASUS have more details to share?

I definitely think that this take on the issue could be correct...It would explain why this is only a Seasonic ''issue'' (at this point this isn't a PSU issue, is a well implemented feature). I'd rather keep my higher quality tx1600 keeping my hardware safe at this point...I was thinking also of another thing...this has begun (at least for me) after the 1202 which stated  ''4.Implement thermal monitoring mechanisms to help protect the CPU and motherboard. Also, the older BIOSes with manual Vcore control were removed''... My guessing is that they messed up sensors with this...
