Before i go into the nuts and bolts let me spec out what i have.
X670E Hero - BIOS 1303
7950X3D
ZOTAC 4090 AMP AIRO
G.SKILL Z5 Neo EXPO 32GB 6000MHz F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR
CPU and GPU custom watercooled (EKWB parts)
So the other night while attempting to play Jedi Survivor the onboard Bluetooth disappeared (not in device manager etc), odd I thought but not a deal breaker and not worth the 2 months i was quoted i would be without the board, anyway my fault finding was as follows:-
Applied my clonezilla image of my machine in case it was a rogue update, Image is from 2 month ago when the system was built (clean image OS, drivers and AV) but the device was still missing.
Clean build of Windows 11 Pro from freshly downloaded ISO, no device.
Reached out to ASUS who said run the diagnostics in MyASUS app but there are none.
I had some new fans which i was waiting on installing on my Rads and thought no better time than now, they all connect to a fan controller so all i did was unplug 6 and plug in 6 to the same controller (all noctuas) and tidy the cabling, now the bluetooth is showing again but randomly the PC now just shuts down, no BSOD logs but 6008 IDs in event viewer, to power back on I need to either turn off the PSU and turn back on (Seasonic TX1300) or use the onboard ReTry button.
I'm at a loss and kinda out of ideas so any help is welcomed.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Very very sad , still no comment from asus.
I am running still same issues. Its definetly the board.
Waiting for Bios Update since then...nothing happens.
800 € Board and no real support.

That's the catch. It's not as much about the product as it is how they respond when there is an issue. Asus charges a premium price and their service should reflect that.
My board arrived today and I should know something in the next 7-10 days. Knowing my luck it will be sent back while I am on vacation 😕

I agree. It's no longer worth paying the premium, if it ever was.
Good luck, keep us updated.
On a different note, I had another crash just now. I was just in an AoE2:DE lobby (not in a game). No logs, though, since my AIDA64 trial expired.

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share an update on the issues I've been facing with the X670E Hero. It's been nearly two months now. As a quick reminder, my setup includes a 7800X3D, X670E Hero, 4090 Strix OC, and a Seasonic Prime TX-1300. I was having the same issue as many here, where my system would unexpectedly shut down during gaming, under light load, or even while idle, and I had to flip the power switch to get it to boot again.
Last Friday, I received a replacement PSU from Seasonic, and so far, it seems to have rectified the issues. I've had my PC running non-stop since then, mostly playing a different game than usual but I'll continue to leave it idle while at work for most of the remaining week to fully determine whether the problem has indeed been resolved.
What's interesting is that, even though the new PSU is of the same model and specifications as the old one, it comes with a dedicated 12VHPWR port. This eliminates the need for the 12VHPWR to 3x6pin PCIe power cable, a notable difference. Since I installed this new PSU, my PC has been running smoothly without any limitations or issues.
In other news, UPS is due to pick up my old PSU this Wednesday. Seasonic is planning to send it to their Taiwan HQ for further analysis, specifically looking into why this particular PSU model had compatibility issues with my motherboard, CPU, GPU, and BIOS combination. Considering the number of us on these ROG forums experiencing similar problems, it could be really beneficial if they manage to identify and address any potential root causes.
I'll be sure to keep you all updated with any further developments. A big shoutout to ASUS and Seasonic for their assistance in this matter - it's been a huge help! I received the replacement unit before UPS picked up my old one, resulting in zero downtime.

Hey Dabz,
I was originally waiting to weigh in on this topic as I'm waiting for a replacement X670E-E as I had to send it back for an unrelated breakage while I was testing things for this exact issue.
You had been trying running with LLC 5 for a while, by the time you got your replacement PSU had this setting helped the situation?
As of tomorrow I'll have a new X670E-E and a new TX-1600, but I'm not expecting a miracle.
I was originally going to get a TX-1300 but everywhere in the UK was saying they wouldn't have stock until October, possibly due to this updated model.

To add my specs to the thread:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-E Gaming WiFi
Memory: G.Skill F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR (Which is on updated QVL)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 FE
PSU: Seasonic Prime TX-1600 + Cablemod Kit
Like everyone else in this thread, my system has been suffering from unexpected shutdowns under various conditions from complete idle at the desktop through to gaming.
Originally these shutdowns occurred every 2-3 days, but they started becoming more frequent after a couple weeks and require cycling the power in order to get the PC to boot again.

I was running LLC 5 with my old PSU because I am conviced that there is some vdroop shenanigans going on. With LLC set to 5 my issue went from 3-4 shutdowns per day to 3-4 per week.
With the new PSU I'm back to LLC auto. I just have some custom timings on my RAM and CO -20 all core on the CPU currently.
07-10-2023 03:58 PM
Right, ok. I hadn't seen anything else in this thread about the LLC change not working since you first said you'd tried it so was hoping that had been the solution, even if it was just a temporary fix.
Just checked the new PSU, it's the same model, no 12VHPWR connectors. It seems the new models come in a new box that shows they're ATX 3.0/PCIE 5.0 compatible on the front under the model name.
I'd already opened the box for the new PSU when I damaged my board and having waited around for that to be replaced I'm now outside the no-hassle returns period for it. I also bought it outright on top of the old unit so if this still has issues I'm out the cost of two TX-1600s.
07-10-2023 04:01 PM
Oh wow thats rough - two TX-1600? Did you contact Seasonic? I have to sleep now and just wanted to give an update but I've been communicating with Seasonic and ASUS for quite some time now and RMAing the PSU would have never been an issue.
07-10-2023 04:20 PM
Yeah I'll look at opening an RMA for the first unit soon. I purchased the second one outright as I couldn't afford the downtime of sending it off and waiting for the return. This was before I'd found this thread so at the time all signs just pointed to a faulty PSU so I jumped the gun and just went to replace that at my own expense.
And now here I am waiting anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered. Heh.
07-14-2023 03:42 AM
geez, i thought i was the only one. i also have
Same exact symptoms. Randomly shuts off, requires turning the PSU on and off before it will boot up again. The motherboard has some level of power (same as in e.g. Dabz's video), as the power buttons are lit up, the RGB panel is on. There is no Qcode (it stays blank).
I would wait a while...depressingly for everyone, I had this issue when I first built this machine in April, I reinstalled Windows and it seemed to go away. It started doing it again randomly 3 days ago. There were no significant Windows updates or driver updates that I can see...it's shutdown 3 times in the last 3 days, after not having done it for over 2 months. Twice I was afk and the machine was idle, one time I was playing Diablo 4.
