Random boot in BIOS after power off.

Hello,

For a few weeks I've noticed that every time I boot my PC after a shutdown, the PC boots in the BIOS directly. My SSD (Samsung 990 Pro) is clearly visible. The time is up to date, so there's no battery problem. The bios is up to date.
When I quit the BIOS (Quit and Save), the PC boots onto Windows 11 Pro quickly and easily.

Here's the configuration:

Intel i9 14900KF
Z790 Asus Gaming WIFI II
32 Gb RAM DDR5 7200CL34 XMP
SSD 990 PRO SAMSUNG
4090 Aorus Master
Seasonic 1600w titanium

If you could give me some hints...

Hi @Lejuif44 I am sorry to hear about your troubles.

Can you share the full make and model number of your memory? Which memory slots have you loaded like A2, B2 etc.?

Also, can you run the following test and report back:

  1. Clear your CMOS.
  2. On first boot after clear CMOS you will get a message to press F5. If you do not see this message then your clear CMOS did not work so try again.
  3. Assuming you get the message, press F1 to enter into BIOS. As you as you enter BIOS, press F5 to load BIOS defaults.
  4. Now press F10 to SAVE and EXIT.

Test now and see if your problem goes away. If it does go away then the issue is happening with you making some BIOS change that is not compatible with your configuration. In this case, you make 1 change at a time to understand what causes your problem to happen. Then we can discuss here further how to resolve it for you.

Hello, @Lejuif44
Thank you for reaching out to us.
May I ask if you are experiencing random cold boots that directly enter the BIOS?
In addition to clearing CMOS and ensuring the hardware, including the SSD, is installed correctly, we recommend checking if the BIOS is updated to the latest version 1503 and Intel ME is at the corresponding version 16.1.30.2307.

We also suggest referring to the [Notebook/Desktop/AIO] Troubleshooting - Computer directly enters BIOS Utility/Aptio Setup Utility a....
While this FAQ focuses on Notebook, Desktop, and AIO products and may lack guidance on cross-testing the SSD or slot, you can still review it for relevant suggestions.

Thank you.
