Hello, @BrandonWheatl21

Could you please confirm your current CPU specifications?
ASUS has verified the motherboard for the best stability and compatibility when installed with the devices in the Memory QVL list.
According to the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO support page, the compatible memory part numbers for 4x 32GB under the 14th Gen CPU specifications are as follows:

For RAM selection, we recommend referring to the "purchasing and installation guide" on the same page or the [Motherboard] How to query (CPU/memory) QVL List?

Thank you.

Hello, thanks for the reply,

I have purchased what I found was compatible with my build, I have 4 x 32gb of g.skill trident z royal at 5600hmz

My CPU is an I5 13600K

I have installed the ram and it now won't boot, I have cleared cmos and installed the ram pairs correctly. I have even tried just the 2 sticks and nothing. It has displayed code 55 on my motherboard. Any ideas?

Thanks again,

Brandon

Hello, @BrandonWheatl21

We apologize for the delayed response.
However, according to the QVL for the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO, the 13th generation K-series CPUs do not include the G.SKILL 4x32GB memory.

If you are installing two kits of 2x32GB RAM, please refer to the "Purchasing and Installation Guide":

Ensure that all memory modules are from the same validated memory kit. Do not mix DIMMs from different memory kits—even if they are the same brand and model (e.g., two DIMMs each from two different memory kits). Mixing and matching DIMMs can result in a failure to boot and compatibility issues. In particular, the stability of a system with mixed DIMMs cannot be guaranteed when XMP (Intel)/D.O.C.P (AMD)/EXPO (AMD)/AEMP/AEMPII is enabled. For example, enabling XMP (Intel)/D.O.C.P (AMD)/EXPO (AMD)/AEMP/AEMPII to speeds above DDR5 4800MHz or above DDR4 3200MHz could result in an unstable system.

Based on your description, Q-code 55 on an Intel platform indicates a memory abnormal.
We recommend cross-testing with memory from the QVL or installing a single RAM stick in DIMM_A2, clearing CMOS, and checking again.

Thank you.
