ROG Crosshair X670e Extreme, trying to get my head around the QVL for memory, after wrongly combining 2 kits, Is it correct that where socket support is indicated as 1,2, that you can use 2 of the available dimm slots ? One on the list is a Kingston 4 x 16gb but the socket support is still 1,2 So I'm obviously missing something here.
Thank you

I believe this has already been answered in the other thread you created.
You can populate all slots just fine. The limitations come when overclocking, which is an AMD platform limitation when populating the board with a certain capacity IC. This is simply how things are on AM5. You can either run the platform at stock or make concessions on performance.
48GB DIMM kit has been qualified for 4 modules at 5200MT, as can be seen on the QVL. Please note that when overclocking, no assurances can be made and a reasonable CPU memory controller is needed with large-density configurations.

Hello JohnnyBGood
Checking the Kingston site for AMD EXPO, all their 64GB memory kits are 2x32GB. I don't see any 4x16GB memory kits for AMD EXPO.

Ok my bad, but can you answer why that for those 4 dimms XMP it only indicates socket support 1,2 ?..And why have 4 slots on the MoBo if you can only use 2 ?
