QCODE 00 for Z690

My motherboard frequently fails to boot. When I attempt to restart, it gets stuck on the 00 error code. This issue also arises during Windows updates. Additionally, if I shut down the PC and attempt to power it back on, I encounter the same 00 error code accompanied by a red CPU light. Yet, if I leave it untouched for about 20 minutes, it eventually boots up.

How are cpu temps?

Do you get code 00 with the bios set to default settings?

I didn't detach the fan to inspect the CPU temperature, and the fan was operational.

Yes, I encountered the code 00 even with the BIOS set to its default settings. I also attempted to reset the BIOS and remove the CMOS battery, but the problem persisted.

Potentially a pin-pad contact issue. Are you using a contact frame?

Try reseating the CPU and cooler - be sure to inspect the pin-pad for any debris or damage then remount the cooler whilst checking for consistent mounting pressure as per the cooling vendors instructions

The CPU and cooler are new and they don't have any damage. I also checked the mounting pressure. My point is that it won't boot up right after being shut down, but it will boot up if you wait for 20 minutes.

What you need to understand is 00 essentially means no CPU detected. The fact waiting 20 minutes helps can also indicate a pin-pad contact issue due to expansion. Maybe try with the motherboard removed from the chassis.

I checked the CPU before and there was no damage.

Could possibly be a psu issue.

When it doesn't boot with code 00, does the psu make a clicking sound?

What psu and gpu are you using?

There is a "ZZZ" sound when it doesn't boot but I can't tell if it is from PSU or Motherboard. 

My PSU is Seasonic Prime TX-1300, 1300W 80+ Titanium.

My GPU is MSI Suprim GeForce RTX 4090 24GB

More reason to remove the motherboard and test outside of the chassis to inspect cabling
