Problems with z790f

Hello,

today i freshly setup a new pc with the asus rog strix z790-f gaming wifi and i never had more problems than with this board. My current problem is, that i have a Rog Delta S Headset and it starts popping now and then and its volume jumps up very high. I can quickly adjust it to its normal volume but its super annoying.

If that was not all, after some time alle peripherals like my Mouse & Keyboard stopp working and i cant do anything to fix it except completly restart my pc.

I had huge problems with getting the right drivers installed for it, even though i used the links from the official site, but for a long time alle the PCI and bus drivers were not getting installed in the device manager. That looks all good now but that problem still persists.

Is the Mainboard backpanel /usb's all kinda broken?

All the new drivers and BIOS is installed. I dont know what to do anymore.

I've seen a few complaints about popping etc on sound. See if there is an audio firmware update on your motherboard support pages. It might help.

If your keyboard and mouse use USB, then try turning off USB Hub power management in Device Manager. It fixed an issue for me, where connection of a new device was sometimes causing the keyboard and mouse to stop working.

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 4301, MEI 2512.7.3.0, ME Firmware 16.1.35.2557, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

All the firmware / drivers are the newest.

I also heard about turning off the USB Hub power management so i also already turned that off. Sadly didnt help.

I already switched back to my older rig, since i really need that pc for work etc. So i probably just refund the Mainboard and get a new one, dont know if i should try it with the same model again or not though.

Any recommendations? It needs a LGA 1700 for my INTEL CORE I9-13900KF 5.8 GHZ and DDR5 for Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB 6000MHz

GPU is a ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12GB GDDR6X OC

All I can say is that I've never had any popping issues with the Hero. Been using it for over 18 months now and it's been a fantastic board for me. I assume that the 790 Hero would be good too, but no experience. I also know that the previous 790 Apex and the new Encore are excellent boards as well, but more money of course. Maybe you can get a good deal on the Apex? I really don't know if the popping issues are 790-F specific, but I have heard of popping issues in the general sense. You might try removing all Realtek audio drivers and seeing if the Microsoft drivers do a better job. Have a look at MoKiChu's audio drivers thread and use his 'cleanup' instructions. Perhaps his latest drivers might be better? Sorry, I don't have a better answer.

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 4301, MEI 2512.7.3.0, ME Firmware 16.1.35.2557, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

Thank you. You did already more then i was expecting to get as help.

The maximus would be to expensive from what i see. And i hear that all the 790 series boards seem to have big problems, so im very hesistant to invest/try another one of those. 😕

I will see what i will get and maybe update it here.

i have same motherboard z790-F and i have similar issue. USB ports don't work properly. Sometimes the power goes out, sometimes  don't recognize the hardware. other PCI or SATA ports works perfectly. Only USB ports works very bad. 😞

I have exactly the same board as well. My sound looks like it is okay. I have installed also audio firmware, but i recognized some usb connected devices issues as well. 2 days ago my keyboard for few minutes did not want to press o letter it pressed l instead. Yesterday when i turned on my pc after boot i got the system sound like all my peripherials got connected. I am sure it was because the lights turned off on the keyboard and came back. But it could be because i set power delivery for usb ports disabled when pc is off.

Sometimes my cursor disappeared. But looks like this fixed with changing usb port.

Most probably your sound issue could be related to the usb issues as well due to it is also usb connected on the board as long i know. But as I mentioned it is okay at me.

I have downloaded all driver from the official website. Did fresh win 11 install and the downloaded drivers installed in offline. If you are online windows can mess up to downloading bad drivers. Also the follow by install is important.

First - all chipset/intel me and after sata drivers

Second - Network drivers(wifi, bluetooth and lan)

Third - Audio drivers

Fourth - Graphic drivers(if integrated vga is off in bios that you dont need to install)

Fifth - Firmware updates(if necessary - meupdate tool,audio firmware,pd udate tool)

Last - Applications/ utilities

Whatever is missing it is good by windows to download. And asusSetup.exe-s preferable to run. Also run them as admin.

I have done ny installs like this and nothing is missing in device manager.

Hello everyone im back with a new/different board the Asus Rog Strix B760-f Gaming Wifi and the same issue!!!!!

I noticed whenever i hover over clickables things like Links/videos etc. It happens very often that the mouse freezes for a second, the sound in my Headset starts crackling and whatever video is currently playing stopps for that amount of time. The light on keyboard goes off aswell for that moment.

It feels like all the usb devices just shortly disconnect and reconnect. But sometimes it completely shuts down mouse/keyboard and headset (all usb) and they dont come back at all. Unplugging and inplugging them again does not help i can only restart the pc completely. It does not happen when i play games on one Monitor and have Youtube or Twitch running on the second monitor. So basically only when im moving my mouse around in the Browser (Firefox). Its way more present when on both monitors are videos running. For example, when i have a youtube video running on one monitor and click on a video on Twitter on the second monitor often when i start the second video it starts with ckrackling sound and mouse shortly freezing.

Mainboard: Asus Rog Strix B760-f Gaming Wifi

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000MHz (16GB x2)

Graphicscard: Asus Rog Strix Geforce RTX 4070 Ti

CPU: Intel Core i9 - 13900KF LGA 1700 (13th Gen)

Power Supply: Straight Power 11 Be Quiet 750W 80+Gold

Mouse/Keyboard: T7 Mouse and some no name Keyboard i had for ages

All drivers are up to date. I even bought a pro version of Driver Easy to find and install everything. BIOS is also the newest for the board.

Im at the end of my knowledge and searched everywhere but all the tips and tricks did not help...

The only thing i did not do yet is a fresh install of Windows 10

Hi,

I'd definitely check out DCP latency with Latency Mon to see what's flagged.

9800X3D / 6400 CAS 28 / ROG X870 Crosshair / TUF RTX 4090

I checked it with Latency Mon, here are screenshots of it. It seems to be something with Nvidia? I dont know what that means and what i can do to fix it. More help would be much appreciated.

Edit: I did a clean uninstall of all Nvidia related drivers and reinstall the newest driver for the 4070 Ti as it was a recommendation i found online but it did not help. No change from the pictures i posted.

Another Screenshot. ndis.sys seems to be a culprit.
